That Skinny Pete moment on the piano is so random but really sad when you think about it. The guy has real talent that he could probably shape into something great, but he just happens to be stuck with drugs and bad company. :( (Charles Baker, the actor, is a legit classically trained pianist!)
That Skinny Pete piano scene is one of the saddest parts of Breaking Bad, if you really think about it. Here's yet another young man with promising talents, who possibly had piano lessons as a kid, whose life is ruined by meth and crime.
@@bawling4soup true. But he's not depressed or suicidal and its good to see that he is havin a good time. Its sad watchin an addict tho bcuz they not truly themsleves and are slaves to their sin.

"Just because you shot Jesse James, doesn't make you Jessie James." SUCH a good line. Walt thinks he can be on par w Gus when Gus spent 20yrs building and perfecting his empire. Mike is the best.
Walt is smarter than Gus and much smarter than Mike. If Mike was as smart as he thinks he is , he would be making corporate money from the sidelines like Lydia.
@@clewis632 Walt is smarter than Gus on what basis? Pride and ego was always Walt's biggest weakness. Not following Gus' orders and ultimately killing him was what led to Walt's eventual downfall. The show does a brilliant job of depicting this. He ain't no Jesse James. The shit starts hitting the fan the moment Gus dies
Walt in less time with less resources has equaled Gus. Walt did follow orders, Jesse didn’t . He was skimming from the lab, started the beef with Gus dealers. Refused to keep the peace after Gus was made aware of the situation. So I think you should say, why Jesse couldn’t follow orders and why did Walt care enough about him to save his life.
I can't imagine the emotional chaos it must've been to simultaneously watch the greatest conclusion to a TV show and the most disastrous implosion of storytelling ever
18:39 symbolic af, Skyler being faced with a decision to "join" Walt's lifestyle full of guns and violence reflected by the Scarface scene playing in the background
One very small moment in the episode I liked: after they deliver the roadie cases, Badger & Skinny Pete try to offer their further services to Jesse and Jesse, with Mike standing there behind him, sort of blows them off. Just the look on Jesse's face; he knows that he's now grown beyond them, both in the Meth game and in emotional maturity, and he seems to be looking back at his own simpler, lunkheaded past with a tinge of regret at leaving it behind. Great bit of subtle acting by Aaron Paul.

Mike would be the best boss ever. The kind who would make sure his employees who put years of hard work in would get compensated even if the business went under, something out of their control. Meanwhile Walt is like a fortune 500 executive who will make tons of money in a successful business and yet complain about having to pay his workers a fair wage. And he wants everything without having to put the effort in. Sure he works hard at the cook and he's no longer afraid to get his hands dirty. But he is so arrogant and condescending towards those he feels are beneath him even as they are doing all of this work for him.
You are way off and need to focus on the episode. If Hank and Gomie didn’t bring Mike in after discovering the offshore account, Mike would have been out of the business and he would be retired. He used that as a reason to join them in next operation. Walt was confident Mike was joining them because he figured he was broke in advance and didn’t have his money layered like Saul recommended. If you recall Saul said the first thing that DEA would do is cease assets . Walt knew Mike didn’t have any back up in place also from the bar scene where he got beat up. Mike told him , you make more money than I do if you think about it, Mike would need to dip into his money saved for his grand kid to pay his guys. That wasn’t an option. So stop the great boss talk.
I never see Walt as the bad guy. He is a guy that has been pushed around and been the chump. Now he is taking charge and making decisions for himself. Other people just have their own agendas. But constantly blaming Walt is just a cop out. I can't think of a person that Walt has killed that didn't have it coming..
@@benkohlmeyer2083 He was desperate with no allies and he knew Brock wouldn't die. He gave him enough to get him sick and then tipped off the doctors. It was enough to get Jessie back on his side, which was ironic since Jessie caused all the drama that put the X on Walt..
23:44 actually when this aired the vast majority of ppl were rooting for Walt. Vince Gilligan said even his own mother (who never watches shows like this and only watched cause her son created it) was rooting for Walt in S5.
I wonder if it makes a difference watching the episodes air week by week instead of streaming. I can’t imagine rooting for Walt, but with streaming we’re now seeing much more of his behavior at once than people were when the episodes were spaced apart.
A lot of folks say that Walt is starting to become like Gus in this season, but I've always thought other than their similarity of a position of power, having it, wielding it. Other than this they are polar opposite in their ideology. Gus is a authoritarian. Gus is all about structure, a system, a regime, metaphorically his "government" if you will. Gus is all about the principles of government, metaphorically his "government," his system that he stands by and lives by. A system that you have to follow and live by and not change. And if you don't do x y z and you don't follow/fit his system then there will consequences. Grave consequence at times. But overall everything he does serves his system. Walt is a totalitarian Walt serves Walt. He is a dictator, he is the end all be all. A narcissist and who suffers from a messiah comlpex. In his mind everyone is there to serves him. Where Gus is all about his system, Walt is all about Walt. His power or omnipotence depends on what he wants, not what serves the overall system. And with a totalitarian and Walt's case a tyrannical one it depends on his mood. He's unwilling to compromise whereas Gus will pivot to get what he wants and most time succeed as long as it fits his system. Walt doesn't follow the rules or have a set of principles to live by. He makes it up as he goes or changes it whenever he wants. He does as he see fits and what pleases him. Even if it doesn't make sense you're going to do it. With these totalitarian men they don't like to be challenge or questioned, if you do you're a problem. If you don't do as he says or if he doesn't get his way. Then you're a problem. Both ideology is all about power but both uses it differently. Grant everyone answers to one person, a single power, but dictators and dictatorship are different. What is difference between totalitarian and authoritarian? Authoritarianism is the opposite of individualism in democracy, marked by submission to authority. In this system, the political power is condensed into one authority figure, who has unchecked power. Totalitarianism is when the person in power seeks to control every aspect of public and private life. Authoritain serves the system. Totalitarian, me, me, me.
Walt learns that as a small business owner, sure you get all the revenues, BUT you *ALSO* get all the EXPENSES. Do you want 100% of your salary, or 100% of the revenue but 3/4s of it goes to expenses.
This show shows the complete destruction of a human being. Walt goes from being a sad but beloved husband, father and friend, to becoming an unspeakable monster. I can’t imagine what he would have been like if he’d started on the ground floor of the company they stole from him so long ago. Or maybe the bitterness from that, simmering for years, exploded when he started cooking and laid the groundwork for what he is now.
Little fun fact, at 18:03 Brock is playing Sonic All Star Racing, the song is from sonic heroes but you can later see them play the actual game in a later episode
Can you see how afraid Jesse was when Walt mention seeing Jesse with Andrea and Brock. Jesse said, "It's nice isn't it." Then immediately back tracks and said, "she doesn't know anything." That he's been careful not to tell her anything. Because that moment might have been genuine, really, where Walt was legit happy for Jesse. But Jesse knows Walt or Heisenberg and that might have been a test. So Jesse backpedaling there is to reassure Walt he doesn't have to worry about her talking. This is what their relationship has become now because Jesse knows how Walt operates, there is a level of fear he has from Walt now. Which is sad. Like I said that moment might be genuine from Walt, but just to make sure Jesse said he hasn't said anything to Andrea. Even something in his private life is not really his now. He can't even really enjoy it and be happy without having to worry what Hisenberg is thinking or might be thinking. That's exhausting. But overall it's sad. Mike is always speaking truth, "Just because you killed Jesse James doesn't make you Jesse James."
I love that Mike does not take Walt's posturing seriously and sees him for who he is; an unstable egomaniac obsessed with 'winning', but with no real idea of how to handle himself once he 'wins' because he's simply not as good at this whole thing as he thinks he is. As Gus once said: he's not a professional. He's a small man trying to act big.
Another person who underestimates heisenberg, in the whole small man thing isn't really true, how tough u are is a frame of mind yeh 90% of the characters in the show can beat physically but say wat u will about walt, but i doubt yur making up a genius plan when someone has a gun to your head
Getting used to enjoying these on my lunch break....finished my lunch and it wasn’t uploaded. About to punch back in and it’s uploaded, oh well, extended lunch break I guess.
I know I'm late, but I don't know why everybody is blaming Walt for literally everything. Sure, there's no doubt that he's a bad guy, but Nikki and Steve blame him for literally anything and everything when, half the time, he doesn't deserve it.
It amazes me that people can still defend Walt or idolize him. He's a great character but is absolutely despicable. He had choices other than drugs for money, it may have not been ideal, but at least it wasn't criminal or endangering his family or others. Everything that happens in the show is a result because Walt valued money over people.
And as one of my personal favorite characters of all time said that I still say to myself on a hard day is from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She says to a friend who is dying of a brain tumor "You have a choice. You don't have a good choice, but you have a choice". It's heartbreaking but true. Would you rather destroy others in order to save yourself?
I love that Skinny Pete moment. It’s a glimpse into the tragedy of the drug lifestyle. He could be so much more. Love how they added something like that to round him out more.
I was glad Jessie did the break up....the lifestyle Jessie and Walt are in is no place for those 2. I think maybe that’s why Walt hinted at a long term relationship ...so Jessie would think about what consequences might occur. Not that I don’t want Jessie to have someone..but if he has to hide what he is doing with a girlfriend...it’s not a very stable relationship to begin with. He needs to wait till his cooking days are over!! Great reaction as always . 🎪🚬🤫🎮.
We can't pretend that Walt gave that talk to benefit Jesse... that was 100% done to benefit Walt. Walt without question cares about Jesse but that talk was all about serving Walt's best interest. At least that's how I see it. -S
Nikki & Steven React lol. Guess it depends how far gone we both see Walt has spiralled . I would like to think that he hasn’t totally gone . And if he thinks Jessie will be distracted with a girlfriend and that’s why he said what he said.....he could be right. Either way....I think it’s for the better. 😉
@@NikkiStevenReact Uh oh. I kinda' knew that you guys picked up a lot of bias against Walt immediately after the Jane incident and it spiraled from there. Walter cares about Jesse.. He's proven it in every aspect to the show. Giving the decision to Jesse and even implying that he SHOULD tell her by using him lying to his wife as an example, how does that benefit Walt? It's one more person that knows. He ISN'T totally gone and (SEMISPOILER START) you'll see that by the end of this season. I mean, even when you watch it you can still feel the same but his loyalties still lies with his family. (SEMISPOILER END) Walter started all of this for his family. Where did that ever change? Jane's death? All Walter knew was that Jane wanted to take Jesse away from him AND that she got Jesse into doing more hard drugs than what Jesse was already doing. It was a very morally lacking thing to do, but Heisenberg is the reality of what this show is about. Making compromises and choices that a normal morally intact person wouldn't do. That's what Jesse symbolizes.. Jesse is doing damn near the same things but what's the difference? Jesse can risk keeping his morals more times than not. That's why Jesse would've never climbed the ladder like Walter did. A video called Skyler the symbol of "Necessary Evil". But in reality I think that's Walt. Every death, aside from indirect ones and Jane, he's caused has been necessary in some shape or form. EVERY single one. I'm not picking sides on any character here, but I think the Walter hate is a bit overboard. It's almost like Nikki can't stand seeing any scene with him because she only sees "He poisoned a child" . She doesn't see "He poisoned a child just enough to scare everybody so that Jesse would help him kill the man that was ready to either kill Hank or kill his entire family." Would you choose giving a kid the flu for a few days, or having your entire family killed? Right.
Sorry but y'all missed what Walt wanted to do here, his last sentence was, if she loves you, she will understand (if Jesse tells everything to his girlfriend, she will understand if she loves him), he was just manipulating Jesse again to push him to tell everything to the girl, wishing that she will leave him after that. He want and need Jesse to be alone and dependant to him.
Mike is the best. I recognised him first time he appeared in the show. He was the guy who killed Axel Foley's friend Mikey in Beverly Hills Cop. He was Victor Maitland's watch dog.
TheNray69 he was also in a scene in Dexter, he played a federal agent taking over a killers case. Imagine my surprise when I see Mike Erhmantrout as an agent...
Every time I see someone react to BB I learn something new or get a new insight. This time it was Steven noting that Walt (and to a lesser extent, Jesse) were like cockroaches. They're the pests who only care about their own survival and ruin their environment. You can see it literally. They're in a tented house full of poison, inside another tent making more poison. This fucking show, man.
Skyler threw Walt “under the bus” when she wrote the script for Walt’s gambling thing, how is that any different then Walt telling the truth that skyler did in fact cheat on him with Ted? Why complain that “it can’t ever be Walt’s fault” when it was skyler who had a crazy mental breakdown that forced Walt to explain in the first place? What he said wasn’t even untrue.
We get it. You guys "hate" Walt, but don't let that blind you from whats really happening during the show. I feel like the show is demonstrating a few things but you guys kinda look past it since all you think are derogatory things to say about Walt.
have no fear Remi King, we are paying attention to the story. we get to read comments and I watch each episode 3 times. try not to manipulate the way we watch the show. -S
When it comes to the cameras in a house, you guys need to remember what year this is taking place in (2008-2010). People didn’t have video cameras in their home and might have a single nanny cam but not much beyond that
Walt has become a master manipulator after all the lies and deceptions he has concocted. His humanity seems more like a façade he exploits to get what he wants. That last scene gives me the chills. It's a testament to Bryan Cranston's impressive acting.
Yup! And to think that Skyler could have stopped Walt back in season 3 if she had only LISTENED to her Lawyer. She gets no sympathy from me since the day she walked out of her lawyers office and refused to turn him in.
@@st3wi3D Why would she? SPOILER: His plan worked. He was on his death bed and had a year to leave as much money as he could to his family. Ofc it really hurt Walter Jr. but in Walter's eyes.. At least he's making sure they will live comfortably without him. Walter became the bad guy to support his family. And Skyler is completely aware of that. She was confliced about it.. But what was the difference between helping Ted and helping Walt? Literally, absolutely, NOTHING. But she still slept with and fancied Ted until he didn't do what she wanted him to do. Not picking sides or anything, but pointing at Walt like he's the BIG BAD character isn't all too far. Maybe in Season 5 where his ego reaches a maximum, but even then.. He still tried to scrape it all under the rug BECAUSE of his family. He tried to quit before but like even Nikki and Steven said.. 3 mill for 3 months? It seemed so harmless, that anybody who knew how to cook would do it. So that's twice he was ready to throw it all aside to be with his family. He knew none of this money was going to him, and none of it did except for the cars he bought for him and his son and investments into cooking.
@@suinade5384 As you stated " It seemed so harmless." But that my friend IS the deception. Not to be a spoiler here but the collateral damage for not turning in Walt far outweighed any conceivable scenario for not turning in Ted. Remember these four little words by Skyler's lawyer - Accessory After the Fact! I'm done. Anything else I say could ruin future episodes.
@@st3wi3D The "deception"? You're speaking as somebody who as seen the show and outcome. I'm speaking for the character, Walter White who had stepped out of the meth business for his family because he finally realized the damage it was causing and that it wasn't too late. There was no deception.. He simply started cooking again because he barely had anything to his family since his deal with Tuco was cut short. He thought it was done, a failure of an idea and then Gus comes along with the deal of a lifetime. Who wouldn't take it, was my question. If you knew how to cook meth and already tried to for the sake of getting up money for your family yet failed... And was given an oppurtunity like that? For three months?? Yeah, I think we're discrediting Walt too much here. He's a genius yes, but he's still human and still a father who cares about his children to the people he's willing to dehumanize himself for the sake of their future. I'm not saying I don't blame him for some of the dark shit he did, but I'm saying that us looking at him like such an evil villain while looking at someone like Mike or Gus as some sort of standing symbol in the show.. That's unfair.
@@suinade5384 Totally disagree with your assessment. If Walt truly wanted to "legitimately" provide for his family and get the necessary medical care for his cancer then he would have taken the deal from Elliot + Gretchen (40% of Grey Matter Research). But he is a prideful, self absorbed narcissistic egomaniac from season one, episode 1. It just took some people a lot longer to come to that realization even though it was apparent all along.
Skyler doesn’t have to be an angel. She can make mistakes like everybody else on the show. I think even if she didn’t sleep with Ted, Walt would be still lying to Marie just to protect himself. Great reaction thank you. 🎪🚬🤫🎮
@@NikkiStevenReact whether it was true or not is irrelevant though. Because let’s say it didn’t happen…was Skyler gonna say “no that’s not true. I never slept with Ted. What’s really happening is Walt is a drug dealer..” The whole issue is she didn’t want the family knowing who Walt is. So Walt could have simply lied about something else and it would have been the same problem. The only way to have prevented herself from looking like the bad guy here was to have told on Walt.
It's interesting how different people react to this show. By this point I was loving the bad-ass Walt ... you guys seem to hate him now, yet had no problem with someone like Gus, who in all likelyhood did far worse to get to the position Walt has carved out for himself now. Different strokes I guess.
It is so ironic that walt - this amazing intelligent scientist is so oblivious to how the world works. His arrogance and narcissism blinds him. If he would just be willing to learn from Mike he could have an empire in like 3 seconds, but nooo walt knows best according to walt :D I love the show
I think Walt gave the kid just enough to make him ill, but not enough to kill him. Let's not underestimate Walt's intelligence Remember, it was his only option because he couldn't save himself without Jesse's help. (the info on Hector at the nursing home).
Actually a read a spoiler from this channel a little while back concerning this very episode. Really annoying when it happens. People think they are trying to be clever by leaving subtle hints, but it just ruins it for Nikki & Steve and people like me who still have not watched all the episodes yet
could have easily put it on himself instead of throwing Skyler under the bus... there was absolutely no reason but serving Walt's ego to tell Marie about the affair. the gambling thing is known, just stick with that.
Marie would not have bought it if he had said gambling. Marie wanted to discover something bigger than that. the affair was something tangible he could use that would satisfy her. Anyway Marie knowing that Skyler had an affair is no big deal as her and Hank suspected that one or the other were cheating way way back.
oh come on... they built that gambling thing to be a really big deal... of course Marie wold have bought it. it's not the point that she knows, my point is that Marie is now fully on Team Walt because of his manipulation.
@@NikkiStevenReact While it is probably true that Walt preferred to throw Skyler under the bus over himself, another benefit of bringing up the affair is to make Marie uncomfortable so she would stop asking about it, which is exactly what happened. If he said it was the gambling, Marie probably would've continued to berate Walt and be upset about it. The way he did it was self-serving but it was also the most efficient, which is kinda Walt in a nutshell.
@@johnnyskinwalker4095 it wasnt an affair to begin with since Skyler broke up with Walt and wanted a divorce. Walt has ruined their familys view of Skyler through out the entire series, then to bring up her and Ted completely out of context, implying that it was a recent thing and that the 'affair' could still be going on. Like Nikki & Steve said, the gambling thing is big enough. Walt has the ability to spin anything to be in his favor, yet he decided to throw his wife under the bus instead, once again.
@@SilentG07 We don't know that for sure. Walt almost beat the crap out of Jessie, Jessie only won because he tripped him up when his back was turned. I reckon Walt could beat the living shit out of Mike is he really wanted to, Mike is way too old to do much.
Also yeah, Mike beat the shit out of Walt. And let's not pretend Walt is this big bad ass that could take Mike one on one. Walter White is a sad, pathetic old man with a God complex. He wouldn't last a minute in a cage with Mike.
You guys are so right about the exterminators. A few years ago a house on my street was getting that done with big tent thing around it. I was so curious and wanted to look inside, but they were right. Nobody in their right mind would actually go in there, especially with all the warning and danger signs. Even if I was a suspicious cop I just wouldn't risk it. Also, at the end, you can tell how nervous Jesse was. He knows that Walt's only leverage over Mike would be if Walt was the only cook. Who is standing in the way of Walt being the only cook? Jesse is.....
This show is a few years old now, and while I may be wrong I kinda get the sense that when this episode first aired home cameras that you could just pull up a picture from on your smartphone from anywhere weren't quite a common thing yet. (at least, with all the cell phones on this show, we never once see a smartphone in the entire run of the series). Obviously the writers were aware of the possibility or they wouldn't have had that guy mention that he'd found & disabled one, but I don't think Best Buy was yet selling a whole bunch of them & people were putting them in every room of their house. Having said that, when a show's writing & directing are so damm stellar particularly as in this season, you're willing to give a pass to a plan like moving in & out of houses being bug bombed to cook meth in which, if you stop to think about it, doesn't seem to hold up as a practical plan at all.
The way Walt looks at Brock when they're on the futon at Jesse's. It's always creeped me out. I can't find anyone else having ever really discussed it on any forum anywhere online, and it makes me feel like I am going insane.
So much hate on Walt who is riding a high of confidence for the first time in his life , clearly everyone in the business is doing harm to someone or something Mike kills people and has for a long time , Jessie has made drugs longer than Walt & killed a man, even Skylar was complicit in the business/ threatened Ted, but now suddenly shes a horrified victim after finding Walt defended himself?
Yeah, he’s confident for the first time in his life... after poisoning a child, letting Jane die, killing MULTIPLE people, manipulating everyone around him, and more. There’s no way you can honestly say that Jessie is a worse person than Walt. Jessie has a heart, but Walt feels no remorse. Skylar isn’t “playing a victim.” She IS a victim. She’s just now realizing what her husband is truly capable of. You’d be pissing your pants if the person you thought you knew and loved turned out to be a complete monster. Yes, he was defending himself, but he also bombed a nursing home.
@@YourFriendDevin Its perspective, they are all at a fault , your're saying Jessie is no worse than Walt due to some emotion here an there? He has killed, and has pettled drugs longer than even Walt there is no moral high ground for either of them. An no Skylar is not a victim anymore, she had her out and didn't take it but decided to enter into a further business decision with Walt only to be terrified he defended himself, did you forget the talk with ted terrified of her as well the threat she made to him?
the actions of others do not diminish or heighten Walt's behavior... on his own, he's a bad, bad dude right now. this has nothing to do with confidence... it's all about an engorged ego and the desire to control and manipulate everyone around him. that said, I love it!!!! I'm a wrestling fan and love a great heel.
madac219 I’m saying Jesse is a better person than Walt. Jesse has killed two people at this point: Gale and Hector Salamanca’s grandson. He killed Gale to save Walt. That was the only choice. Blood would’ve been on his hands either way. He killed Hector’s grandson to save himself, Gus, and Mike, who has become somewhat of a father figure for Jesse. Am I saying he’s a saint? No. Yes, he’s pedaled drugs, but he hasn’t done anything even CLOSE to as horrible as what Walt has done. Skylar IS a victim. You’re forgetting that her “out” meant destroying her entire family. She decided to go along with Walt so that the family wouldn’t fall apart, and their kids wouldn’t remember Walt as a murderous drug lord. You seem to think that I’m calling everyone perfect besides Walt. I’m not. That’s what’s great about this show; there are no “good guys” and “bad guys.” I’m just saying that almost every bad thing that happens in this show is a result of Walt’s selfish actions, and just because he’s finally found some confidence doesn’t justify the damage he’s caused.
madac219 I don't approve of Walt's behavior but I do agree that the majority of characters in this show have done horrible things as well. If Jesse never met Walt he would of most likely been dead or in prison by the end of season 1
It’s insane how this show is able to make you love Walt in the beginning, to hating him more and more as time goes on. Props to Bryan Cranston for pulling this off perfectly.
Were you really angry on Walter that he told Marie about Skyler's affair? Walter just discovered that his wife helped another criminal to cook books, so she became a criminal herself for stranger, not for his family. After that, when Walter explained her everything, and said that he did everything for his family, Skyler slept with her criminal boss. When Walter signed divorce papers, Skyler didn't do it, because she wanted his money... Are you serious?
@@sarahzentexas season 1 was awesome (loved malvo and Lester) Season 2 was great (Ed, Lou, Hanzee and Floyd were fantastic) Season 3 was good (slow at beginning, gets exciting after wrench comes in) Season 4 kinda sucks 😐
I never quite got exactly what Walt was trying to say with his thoughts about why Gus killed Victor. I'm not sure if was meant as a threat against Mike or just him musing to Jesse on the parallels to their situation. Anyway, Walt is trying to become Gus. He has the cold calculating arrogance and the ability to read and manipulate people. But as Mike pointed out, Walt is a time bomb that is eventually going to blow. I think the crew of burglars knows to look for cameras in the house. It's probably the first thing they do. I totally forgot about that scene with Skyler freaking out on Marie. She's barely holding it together. She's really regretting letting Walt back into the family. Though I doubt he would give her much choice at this point. Charles Baker, the actor who plays Skinny Pete, is a classically trained pianist. The writers of the show found out about that and wrote that scene so he could show off his skills.

Emil Hofileña I know it’s such a cool moment! One of my favorites in BrBa!
I’m glad they gave Baker a scene where he could show his talents on piano. You can tell he’s really playing! Great little scene :)
@Moist Gnome Lol, I guess Gale got the life he wanted
@SpankMeSanta Krazy 8 was a trained musician too iirc
@Moist Gnome Gale threw away his coffee making talents to do it though
"Just because you shot Jesse James, don't make you Jesse James." One of my favorite lines in the show.

That Skinny Pete piano scene is one of the saddest parts of Breaking Bad, if you really think about it. Here's yet another young man with promising talents, who possibly had piano lessons as a kid, whose life is ruined by meth and crime.

The piece that Pete is playing BTW is Solfeggietto in C minor by C.P.E. Bach. I know because I played that piece myself in a piano recital at age 11.
I like to think skinny Pete and badger gave up meth and became chilled out pot heads for the rest of their lives and lived a simple but happy existence

That scene was his downfall lol
One very small moment in the episode I liked: after they deliver the roadie cases, Badger & Skinny Pete try to offer their further services to Jesse and Jesse, with Mike standing there behind him, sort of blows them off. Just the look on Jesse's face; he knows that he's now grown beyond them, both in the Meth game and in emotional maturity, and he seems to be looking back at his own simpler, lunkheaded past with a tinge of regret at leaving it behind. Great bit of subtle acting by Aaron Paul.
Yeah, I noticed that too. This show is fantastic with subtle character building.

10. Walt is so pleased with how in sync he & Jesse are - their best collaborative moment in the series...and then, to his eyes, Andrea interrupts that. He also feels uncomfortable with Brock around...does Brock remember Walt from something he did with the berries? Or ??? So he decides he’d rather those two be out of jesse’s life
11. “Walt’s lies contain a lot of truth”
12. Pacino was really cool & let them use the clip of him in Scarface at SAG minimum $ - when you show a clip, you have to get permission from & pay the movie in general & then for each individual actor who’ll appear in the clip. That’s why they use 3 Stooges a lot - it’s free
13. Prop money is tricky - it takes time to figure out the breakdown, what denominations to use to get the pile the size they want, etc.
14. there was a journalist at comicon who asked Vince to go over a graph they were going to publish in a magazine breaking down all the money Walt had made & spent...it was off by a few hundred thousand, but it ran anyway
Saul's dialog about the Vamanos Pest crew is supposed to signal that they're experienced with disabling home security.

I never see Walt as the bad guy. He is a guy that has been pushed around and been the chump. Now he is taking charge and making decisions for himself. Other people just have their own agendas. I wonder if it makes a difference watching the episodes air week by week instead of streaming. I can’t imagine rooting for Walt, but with streaming we’re now seeing much more of his behavior at once than people were when the episodes were spaced apart.
fuck walt
Nice explanation man☝🏾
Walt learns that as a small business owner, sure you get all the revenues, BUT you *ALSO* get all the EXPENSES.
They didn't steal the company, he sold it for 5k and got bitter when it became a billion dollar company 😂

He didn't do anything wrong
We're getting serious now.... Love Mike
I love that Skinny Pete moment. It’s a glimpse into the tragedy of the drug lifestyle. He could be so much more. Love how they added something like that to round him out more.
I love Walter's transformation during this show. Def my favorite character!
KrypticSoul same!!
It really is amazing
Shut up shut up shut up became Vince Gilligan’s ringtone. 🤪
He used logic to manipulate him simple as that. Jessie knows that Walts wife is aware of the cooking so he wouldn't want the same to his girl
I know him mostly from the series Wiseguy.
Nikki's line the whole of BB: "I don't like any of this"
Stevens line the whole of BB: "YO"
Every time I see someone react to BB I learn something new or get a new insight. This time it was Steven noting that Walt (and to a lesser extent, Jesse) were like cockroaches. They're the pests who only care about their own survival and ruin their environment. You can see it literally. They're in a tented house full of poison, inside another tent making more poison.
This fucking show, man.
+Your description should have been, "Hazard Pay: The episode where Walt goes total Cersei."
Fun fact: Steven Bauer (Don Eladio) and Mark Margolis (Hector Salamanca) both were part of Scarface.

SPOILER:
His plan worked.
She is a hypocrite definitely but she doesn't deserve the hate some give her
but the thing is that it wasn't a lie... Walt just wanted to control Marie like everyone else around him.
Nikki & Steven React for me he is lying to Marie because Marie is asking what happened to Skyler at that moment. And it has nothing to do with Ted.
Fresh2000 Skyler haters didn’t watch this show objectively for sure. I’m glad Nikki and Steven are not like that at all.
Actually a read a spoiler from this channel a little while back concerning this very episode. Really annoying when it happens. People think they are trying to be clever by leaving subtle hints, but it just ruins it for Nikki & Steve and people like me who still have not watched all the episodes yet
🎪🚬🤫🎮 🍆
That Skyler scene where she breaks down made me weepy the first time I seen it. 🎪🚬🙊🎮
that was so intense
And Walt manipulating Jesse into dumping Andrea just so he could get him away from Brock!
Dammit Walt, let Jessy be happy! lol But it was a good move talking about Skylar's affair, he had to come up with something.
could have easily put it on himself instead of throwing Skyler under the bus... there was absolutely no reason but serving Walt's ego to tell Marie about the affair. the gambling thing is known, just stick with that.
Steven: "Good job, Todd!"
Famous last words.
Technically Mike sucker punched Walt, he never kicked his ass. And Walt has outsmarted him at every turn, everyone for that matter.
@@SilentG07 We don't know that for sure. Walt almost beat the crap out of Jessie, Jessie only won because he tripped him up when his back was turned. I reckon Walt could beat the living shit out of Mike is he really wanted to, Mike is way too old to do much.
Some Random Anon
Doesn’t change the fact that Walt is the real danger....
When has Walt outsmarted Mike?
Also yeah, Mike beat the shit out of Walt. And let's not pretend Walt is this big bad ass that could take Mike one on one. Walter White is a sad, pathetic old man with a God complex. He wouldn't last a minute in a cage with Mike.
@@GreenFalcon926 You're kidding, right?
13:52 nice Walter Jr impersonation.
i just love watching you two get mad at walt...
I'm a wrestling fan and love a great heel.
madac219
I’m saying Jesse is a better person than Walt.
“Good job Todd”
....ohhhhh no 😶
Hi Brock its me the creepy old Guy who poisoned you
todds crew are professional b and e people, they know how to to spot a security cam, it would be essential for their clients
Steve saying "good job Todd" is so hilarious considering rest of the series 😂
"Remember when we used to feel bad for Walt" is the most relatable feeling in this show😂😂
It’s insane how this show is able to make you love Walt in the beginning, to hating him more and more as time goes on. Props to Bryan Cranston for pulling this off perfectly.
Unknown 84 I still love him. Always have. Maybe I’m sick in the head a little lol
I still loved him to lol
"Everyone dies in this movie" is really how I thought it would all end after watching this episode way back when
The Pest Guys are Gangsters and they know where the Cameras are - they are Pros
Go pros!!
Steven: That was frickin' dope!
Walt: You're goddamned right!
13:22 Foreshadowing Todd love
Y’all should watch the Fargo show!
yes fargo!! forgot about that show.....awesome show!!!
I want to watch it with them
Fargo, all 3 seasons, is AMAZING.
@@sarahzentexas season 1 was awesome (loved malvo and Lester)
Season 2 was great (Ed, Lou, Hanzee and Floyd were fantastic)
Season 3 was good (slow at beginning, gets exciting after wrench comes in)
Season 4 kinda sucks 😐
Great work guys.
I have no idea how I found your react series, but I'm loving it. Binged all your breaking bad over the past 2 days.
Question for steven, what's your bjj expiernce? Do you train in the gi or no-gi and how long have you been doing it.
Love from ireland🇮🇪
Hi Dan!! I'm a black belt and I do 99% gi. I wrestled in high school so I have that too. I've been doing jiu-jitsu for 11 years.
As far As the camera thing that you say i think its obvious that they check it out very carefully before they cook. 🎪🚬🤫🎮
Besides Walt's kids,Andrea and Brock everyone in this show is a criminal in some shape or form. Can't feel sorry for any of them.
I highly disagree that u can't feel bad for someone because there a criminal, humanity and morality just simply isn't that black or white
24:45 “That was a mic drop” 🎤 (That Mike dropped ☺️)
I love how suspicious you are of every single thing Walt does at this point. XD
I still kinda root for him.
When Walt was sitting alone with Brock on the sofa, I half wanted him to ask, "So, you like berries?"
Hahaha
