One of My first summer jobs was at Fish Creek and Rowlands pond in 1966 cleaning rest rooms and picking up garbage. The rest rooms had open toilets with concreate vaults underneath. You open a gate on one end and flushed everything out with a firehose. Into a holding tank. That would get pumped out with a park vacuum truck.
Usually I notice the light on the camera.....this time I didn't. I just got back from Horseshoe Lake. When I left...(August 13) almost all the sites were empty....wet but empty. Lots and lots of rain.
@@ADKMan DANG!! We just signed in at Lewey Lake campground. They have great showers, but they are a little expensive and have too many rules. Next time Horse shoe is it.
Camped there a few times, not my favorite, it’s possibly the largest of the DEC campgrounds and maybe the busiest. Thus it always feels crowded. It’s also one facility that is open early season and closes late. I prefer the adjacent Rollins Pond, but that closes early Sept. so rarely camp there.

I agree….It’s busy!! I also prefer Rollins Pond…but after Labor Day….I like Meacham Lake!

Yes there is. It located in the back of the campground between Rollins Pond and Fish Creek.
