Once she starts dating Jamie, something happens.. he gets super successful and she kinda just falls into the background and starts to believe that he's thebest part of her, and that's when she starts getting sad. But if you're looking for it, you'll see that she was different before. Jamie changed too in other ways, but that's for another day

I think that the last five years deserve to be on Broadway it's not as expensive as other shows like Phantom of the Opera and it's a masterpiece and a very well liked and popular musical .They would sale many tickets if they ever decide to put it on Broadway

Why do people act as if Off-Broadway is lesser than Broadway? The only difference between the two if we're honest is that Broadway Theaters have more seats than Off-Broadway. That's the key reason why a show like The Last Five Years thrives Off-Broadway, It's a smaller, more intimate experience which is not a bad thing. And also if you actually look into it most Broadway theaters aren't even on Broadway.
I do not like musicals because of the unnecessary screaming, the fake laughters, because of songs like this one. This is really the type of songs I cannot stand and yet, this amazing singer made me listen to her performance more than 50 times in 2 days. It is practically impossible for me to resist. The "... you don't have to get a haircut..." section and the culmination of energy is so palpable! Nothing but respect.
I know it’s absolutely the most fun fact ever. The stripper in the movie got maybe a total of ten seconds of screen time and was my second favorite character, behind Dwayne of course
Control for days! Everything was just Brad and resonant and ringing. Her vibrato is one of my favorites it’s just so seamless. She really knows how to push and pull with music like this. Taking some phrases out of time and then speeding up another. It’s so smart and I loved all her choices vocally. Those high notes man was so clear and full, I mean she’s phenomenal. I cannot get over how much I love her voice. I wanna hear her sing “dying ain’t so bad.” She’d murder that song!
This is actually a very difficult song to make work. But this actress milks very ounce of meaning out of that lyric and infuses in with a ton of character. We are definitely invested in this character and this message. What she is doing with the phrasing is genius.
