- German police stormed a conference on Palestine in Berlin, disrupting and cancelling it shortly after it began. This occurred hours after one of the main speakers, Dr Ghassan Abu Sittah, was detained at the airport and prevented from entering the country.

Ongoing protests are becoming hostile to only play into the hands of alleged islamaphobes and the for right as you suggest. A real debate including differing perspectives should be heard and should include views we find harsh, comfortable and a little uneasy to find a mature conclusion. This is what civilised, educated and eloquent people do. It might be likely that the German Police had been handed intelligence and doubts to some of the speakers or those likely to be in attendance. The state-owned media describes the conference as thousands of anti-Semites converging on Berlin for a hate summit. The continued police brutality and repression is well documented.
