I saw you play for the first time at Indiana University and it was so impressive that it gave me goosebumps that I couldn't forget. At the time, I didn't have much money, so I couldn't afford to see a big performance, but I had the good fortune to watch it because performance was held for students with affordable ticket price. That wonderful experience and beautiful melody became the driving force that gave me strength whenever I was having a hard time in my life. I am always grateful to you!!
that's because before age 12 he never practiced for more than an hour a day. Then in 1980 he started at Meadowmount music school where everyone was practicing 5 hours a day. He went from practicing less than an hour per day than a minimum of 5 hours at a specialist music environment. That's why he made such insane progress in just two years.
This proof of a ' child prodigy '. He always had professionalism from even that young age. A true , brilliant musician full of character and panache. I'm privileged to have his performances to remind what a great soul he is in every respect personally! Wendy Louise (Hall) Musician

Hi Josh, It still is amazing to see this performance after so many years since we played together at IU. Do you think you could put my name in the credits? -- Kevin Purrone, pianist
Just had to add my thoughts.. Magnificent and totally gifted. Gift plus practice makes this level a reality. One without the other never gets it done. Joshua you are to be commended for your contribution to the gift God have you!! 👍😀🙏🏻
Felicidades Joshua; te saludo de la región del Chaco, lugar que tiene el violín como instrumento importante en la difusión de nuestra música del país con mayor diversidad biológica y cultural del planeta llamado Bolivia
If youd like to see the town Joshua grew up in watch "Breaking Away". The film was made in 1979 and won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay. It's a wonderfully lighthearted film that shows an essence of Bloomington, In and the University at which Joshua studied music.
I have been listening to you all day yesterday and today, from Tchaikovsky to Shostakovich and the story of your Huberman violin. Amazing. By the way, nice to know your family was from Czestochowa, I have been there many times and know the building where you played the Brahms's concerto. I come from Silesia too.
Dear Joshua Bell, I am 13 and I really love your playing. Because of you I really built a love and passion for the violin. I hope to play 1 song with you skills and passion. Lots of love from Emily (I saw you at the NC symphony once)

I think the ‘bored’ faces are more of a disappointment-realizing that their career dreams won’t be realized because this young man performing in front of them
probably - i heard him the year before at IU, although I thought this was it and it had to be 80 or 81! I was a Euphonium major - AND I WAS PISSED lol.....oh, and did you want the audience to get up and dance??? lol
Hi Josh, your performance at IU in celebration of Josef Gingolds life was so special and touching, was it recorded? If so, is it possible for it to be shared on TH-cam?
Are you serious?? That’s not boredom, that’s, “There goes my dream of a career.” Or maybe, “I’d love to rip his fingers off his hands, the little *@%# twerp!” Years and years and years of endless practicing, lessons, frustration, hopes, dreams, not to mention your parents’ money, right down the sh*tter.
Pensar que le dijeron a Tchaikovsky que era imposible de ejecutar. El concierto para violín más bello de la historia. Muy bien por el jovencito. A seguir estudiando.
@@janaltman6905 I am confused. Let me see. The violin? 1982 - 1750 = 232-YEARS-OLD no that's not it... The concerto? 1982 - 1875 = 107-YEARS-OLD no that's not it either... Joshua Bell? 1982 - 1967 = 15 years ?? so I am not sure what is supposed to be 12-YEARS-OLD? I know exaggeration is part of music lore and the wunderkind is always desirable, but I am certain even Joshua would not want ppl to exaggerate his talents but to accept them for what they are and if it is not good enough, then bugger off!
@@gbx5180 I thought he was 12 or even younger, just by looking at him, I had no idea when he was born. Very immature in looks and build, compared to the way my husband and sons looked at 15.
Joshua Bell is born great , enhanced by great teachers but essentially a talent in his own right.
Just saw you at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's opening night. You are still the Poet of the violin...We love you...still

This incredible gift from above that Joshua possesses will forever amaze and delight audiences.
He is humble and kind.
Genius ,combined with hours of work
ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING!!! HE WAS BLESSED!!!
the progress from 1980 to 1982 is unbelievable
Not really. There are like 50 Asian kids at Juilliard pre-college at any given time that play better than him then and now..
@@Achilles__645 interesting. Any video of that performance?
@@Achilles__645 yes but they all play like robots with taught musicality. This is the real thing

Joshua, how lovely 💜 to see you young!

A master class and the master has little to offer this musical wonder. Just saw you last night in Santa Barbara. Incredible show.
yup. 'master' super threatened by the prodigy, doesn't have much to say in the way of correction, can't wait to dismiss him....

None of the above means anything without at least one pushy…. errr I mean “supportive” parents
