    Bought my IS500 in the summer this year. Flew into Missouri and purchased it from the first owner and drove 8 hours back to Detroit. Been really loving it and I'm running the rr racing bazooka exhaust on it and it truly brings out the character of the v8 compared to the stock exhaust.

    I have an '08 IS F and I would describe these cars as JRM, Japanese Refined Muscle. Athletic yet Gentlemanly. It's all about the driving experience and this car hits the target. So much fun to drive. I don't ever want to sell my "Red Barchetta".

    Oh boy, been looking for an IS and RC 350's along with a 24 Camaro. The big V8's are fantastic but for 10K less you get a lot of the same cars with less ins. cost, better gas "regular" mileage rarity and quality. I spend 90% just keeping up with traffic. GREAT video Kirk

      i had a rc-350-f sport, and as much as i loved that car, when i lost a stop light drag race to a 4 banger turbo accord, it had to go. i now have an RCF and would never go back. the fuel economy between the two isnt as drastic as you would think under normal driving conditions.

    Love your videos. Two stage pedal is an awesome luxury feature and found in most german cars. Just like two stage switches one windows for manual up or down to desired spot using first stage or auto all the way up or down using second stage. The first stage does one thing and the second stage does another. First stage pedal accelerates without downshifting, second stage accelerates with down shift. Much better than not having two stages. There are times you want to accelerate without downshifting, others you want to downshift. If you want to downshift just smash the pedal, if not, go easier until the first stop. Great luxury feature.

    I miss my IS 500 2023. It held up really well over 5000Miles, fantastic car. The biggest takeaway vs my RC F is the IS 500 has a softer suspension on normal mode and Sport S gets you a bit more nimble and stiff, S+ gets even more hard while Normal in the RC F is Sport S+ in the IS. Ultimately IS will be super comfortable for longer cruises like over 300miles, while RC F is way too stiff its a plus and a minus, plus is RC F chassis is extremely strong. Minus is IS has way too much body roll, it cannot go beyond 150Mph. Brakes are weaker, also IS has 4 doors which is superb for many. Biggest con is lack of leather on a 70K car, it has Auto mirrors finally in 2025 MY. And also the flaw is, bumper sag. It cannot be fixed because Lexus under engineered the chassis for the heavy 2UR-GSE sadly the bumper will sag eventually community fix is only way as lexus TSB is a shame, this company is dead for their future grab these while you can. Aisin A80E is way quick if you control it up 4K RPM range band. RC F has 2 stage pedal too, but the F car is a truly remarkable machine. Like the IS 500, it's a very nice car.

      Its also for the speed limiter which you can use instead of the cruise control. To go above the set speed you have to go beyond this barrier.
      All of the cars with this feature have those two stages in the pedal.

    • @dukesim6088
      @dukesim6088 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ryancolebourn3060The idea is that you can overrule the set speed limit by going beyond this "hump" in the acceleration pedal. So you still can accelerate when overtaking for example. When the limiter would be without this function dangerous situations can occur because you could hit the limit when you forgot to cancel it and not overtake fast enough and get into oncoming traffic.

    Two stage pedal? Do you mean a kickdown switch? Germans cars have something kinda like what you decribe. I know a 2015 VW passat has it lol. Basically in german cars that have it, it acts has a "drop to the highest gear possible for max acceleration".
    Edit: did some research and yeah its a kickdown switch in an IS500. Popular among german cars. No clue Lexus would use it. IMO a little pointless but know my camaro 10 speed has a "hidden" kick down switch. Basically if you are in sport mode and jab the thottle it will automatically downshift to the highest gear available for max acceleration. Alternative if i put it in manual mode and hold the left paddle down it does the same thing

    If I’m gonna get the 5.0 V8 I’m getting an LC500, as of now my 15 GS fsport, 21 IS350 dynamic handling, and 21 RX are more than enough Lexus than I need at the moment 😂until I get my GX500

    I wish they stopped with the f sport trim and kept the performance based models as ‘F’. If they want a sporty body trim it could just be called sport or aero 🤔

    • @ARentz07
      @ARentz07 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The reason this isn't called an "F" is because it isn't the same thing. It's kind of like a BMW M-Performance model like the M340i.

      Yeah they are all way too low from the factory. Although the real problem is the sharp cutoff. If they had a more diffuse cutoff it would be fairly ok. With the sharp cutoff it's a real balancing act aiming them higher without blinding other drivers.

    ALL Lexus never stack up to the competition. sure, they have a niche market and its more apparent with the v8 engine. but it is just too boring for the audience that's being targeted at the end of the day... it takes a different person to buy this, and there just simply isn't enough of them to keep it going...

      Lol it's not boring. It's called having a split personality. Unlike a 3-series, which has super touchy brakes, stabby throttle, and fast steering to remind you how sporty it is at all times, this car just drives normally. But you can always click it into S+ Mode and go ham. If a RWD V-8 sport sedan is boring, that's on you.
