  • In this video, we take the ferry to the small island of Gozo, Malta's rugged destination. The first stop on the itinerary is Ġgantija, one of the oldest megalithic temples from the Neolithic times. Such interesting history! Then we head to the salt pans of Xwejni, such a beautiful sight, especially from above 😍 Last stop the Sanap cliffs, which are truly breathtaking! Perfect to watch the sunset.

Never knew about this temple - great info and sharing of 'the vibe'. That cliff at the end was epic! In the States there would be a fence or some kind of barrier all around it to keep people from going over the edge. I love how in so many places in Europe the expectation is that people have common sense and accountability for their behavior, as opposed to the litigious US where people often sue for consequences of their own poor judgment. (huge generalizations I know...just my personal observations).

The Ggantija temple is very impressive. Thankfully the Maltese government is doing everything to preserve it.
Btw. it's a UNESCO world heritage since 1980, because the UN was only founded in 1945.
The view from the cliff is really spectacular.

Oops you are right, 1945 must have had something to do with the excavations. Gozo was amazing, we wish we had more time to stay there for at least 1 night.
