I saw my father just a few days ago and we spent some time together. It was absolutely priceless. And I ALWAYS make sure to acknowledge him on his birthdays, holidays, and of course Father’s Day. Dad if you’re reading this you’re absolutely marvelous.
That's sad their dad provided for them & they couldn't even tell him Happy Father's day. After he died, they didn't show no remorse only thing they were concerned about was the money.
This past Father's Day, the first thing I did before starting my routine at work, was wishing my dad a "Happy Father's Day" even though I'm 34 years old and he's raising my five - much younger - siblings and is busy at work and trying to take care of himself - especially with his diabetes he's had since February of last year. He may not do SO MUCH for me, but when he takes me out to eat someplace or buys me something to eat or brings me a plate of food he made, to me, it's enough - heck, even just seeing my dad, puts a smile on my face. Reminds me of someone - or at least my aunts and...either my uncle or my dad - after their dad (my grandpa passed away back in 2012...they were all pestering the hell out of my grandma, bitching to her about the will and what was left to them, and how they wanted more, and eventually, she had to have someone else to settle what was left to her(my grandpa bequeathed to her, what he wanted her to have, in his will)...she never got a chance to mourn over her husband's death (they were married for 50 years)...as of now, my poor grandma's in a retirement home, going and coming when she wants to, while one of my aunts works as an accountant until late in the afternoon-close to evening, she picks up my granda from the home and takes her back - to my grandma's house, where my aunt has been living since 2020 (when my grandma was diagnoses with dementia, which has been getting worse). My dad works - and has been working - at a vA hospital since 2004 after he was honorably discharged from the military and after his tour of duty in Iraq, and my uncle has had two jobs since before the 2000s - one, as a lawyer, and the other, as a fireman. My other aunt, who's had a job as a hair stylist and raised 3 kids,(2 of whom have kids of their own and live with their common-law husbands and work in decent jobs) now - since last year (at most), has been unemployed (she was fired for something she messed up on - getting into it with one of her customers or one of her co-workers or one of her bosses); she's the type who wants free money or..everything handed to her without working for it, while raising a teenage son (he'll be 20 in 2025)...
Every year, my mom, brother, and I would always come with a special surprise for Dad for Father's Day💙 Dad didn't mind if the gifts and surprises he have are extravagant. What matters is that it comes from the heart.
That’s sad that the kids only cared about the money and forgot to say happy Father’s Day to their dad, that’s so wrong of them to take advantage of their dad.
Not necessarily, but he should have stood up to them. He should have told them to get jobs and stop spoiling them. But that doesn't mean he did a bad job raising them.
Once they're dead and gone they're gibe forever there's no more chances to realized or apologize for what was say and done to them I was so glad how they made the ending result to turn out as much deserve because its true sometimes for sone families strangers can treat you better that your own blood can
I always say that materialistic things will always be there, but your loved ones won't be around forever, so cherish every moment you have with the people who love you. Because one day, you might never get to have that chance again. When it comes to Father's Day, I never forget to appreciate all the things my dad does and I thank him for everything he has done for me. These kids were quite bratty and mean, not to mention uncaring in this story towards their father and not wish him Happy Father's Day before he passed on. Great story! And I love the ending alternatives.
But material things won't always be there. Anything that's created by humans will not last forever. They can stand for hundreds or even thousands of years, but only God is eternal
On another note: if this was my dad and seen "these kids" act this way to him, I'd wait for them to be on thier way so I could at least hug him and wish him a "Happy Father's Day" - at least he'd know that at least ONE of his kids remembered...
You should always be grateful for what you have before it's gone and those kids that are now grown-ups should've checked their calendar everyday and if they don't have one then they could've just used their phones to check the calendar.
