    Hi! Awesome video. Super helpful!!
    We rented a 16-foot container too and are moving out of state. I'm curious about what your big ticket items you ended up moving. I have a 4-bed 2,500 sq foot house but my only big ticket items would be (1) Queen bed (mattress/boxspring/headboard/footboard/frame), (1) 6 drawer dresser, (1) office desk, (2) twin beds (mattress/boxsprings/headboard/footboard/frame).
    I'm NOT moving dining table/chairs, couches, armoires, appliances, etc.

    • @KayeinKansas
      @KayeinKansas  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My house wasn’t as big as yours. Definitely squeezed a king bed, queen bed and box, twin mattress and box, sectional couch, garage tools (compressors, circular saw, etc…) that’s all I could think of now…
      I think you’re golden as long as you are a child of the 80’s and know how to play Tetris 😂

  • @americanidolw

    Thanks for the video. We are moving multistate and we were told you can only get the large for our distance. Which is a bit of a pain, we have a small house, but not keeping any furniture so I'm worried we'll have a LOT of space in the pod haha

    • @KayeinKansas
      @KayeinKansas  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that might be an issue, the more space between, the more chances it’ll shift.
      But remember inside the container there’s latches every 4 ft or so, so you can definitely try and harness each segment- so no shifting.

    Hi KG! Very helpful and well-done video. How long did it take for you to pack your POD? My wife and I are trying to decide if we should use some movers to help with the job. We are very picky with how our stuff is handled and would rather do the "grunt work" ourselves. Our HOA only allows 48hrs to have the POD on the property. In case any of your other viewers are interested, moving from Philadelphia to Phoenix using one 16 foot POD is costing us $4800.00! I guess the prices have increased since your making of this video? The PODS rep told me the increased price was due to the season and popularity of the PODS. Keep up with the great videos:)

    • @KayeinKansas
      @KayeinKansas  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ohhhhhh, 48 hours- that seems very short. I think we packed our stuff in a week. We did take our time though and when we were packing the weather was on the 90’s and 100’s. It was brutal.
      48 hours might be doable for a couple of you preplan, prebox, prewrap everything before you actually get the PODS. I would like to suggest that you buy some Costco Pizzas and invite some very able friends and family to help you pack 😂

    • @KayeinKansas
      @KayeinKansas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 x 16 ft, that would be huge. Did you talk to a PODS consultant yet? It does seem like you have a lot of outdoor stuff- but maybe if you disassemble them properly and box them you could maybe maximize your container a little bit better?
      We had a 1800 sq ft house, and was able to use only 1 x 16 ft. We got rid of some of our huge items though.
      You prolly just need a 16 foot and if you’re worried, maybe another smaller container- hope your move will be super easy and fast!

    • @KayeinKansas
      @KayeinKansas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We had to move a couple flat screens, we took them with us when we drove in the truck.
      If you’re placing them in the POD, wrap tons of blankets and then wrap them tight and good. I would suggest placing them in between soft stuff like a mattress-
      I don’t really think it matters where you place them- middle to back- most likely to be secure.

      Make sure that the door of your POD doesn’t have any dents on it. Ours had a slight dent and since the door rolls up- it can get stuck because of the dent- it was painful trying to get the door unstuck 😖 (specially on a hot day)

      “The PODS 16-ft. container is approximately 16'x8'x8. According to PODS, the container is the company's largest container option and is a “popular choice for moving a home with three or four rooms.” The inside of the container offers 857 cubic feet of packing space.”
