Congratulations on your new Griffon puppy! We actually have an online training course available that shows you step by step how to train your puppy from 8 weeks to a year old. It’s broken up into easy to follow lessons that can be completed by older puppies and dogs too! Check it out here: www.standingstonekennels.com/courses
I have the Garmin 200i and I believe I put it on correctly. High on the neck, correction prongs center of neck with antenna up. I put 3 fingers under collar for proper tightness. But when I let him go he shakes his head to get the collar to rotate 90°. How do I stop this, he even does it with it tightened to 2 fingers? It's the TT mini collar.
Love all the videos!! Very helpful. I had a question, training my first lab this year. What e-collar do you recommend?? I’d there one I can buy that will last his whole life or do I need a couple different ones. PLEASE HELP, thank u
YAWA Q: I’m getting a service dog prospect. The breeder sent videos of the puppies during biosensor training and yellow and gray handled it the worst. Now that they are 6weeks, yellow is confident, people driven, and seems to have a great temperament. Despite performing poorly days 3-16, is he a good pick now that his temperament seems of working quality?
What age do you guys start training with wings and scent? I just got a GSP puppy he’s 8 weeks and want to do it right. I’ve loved y’all’s channel and videos, plus I subscribed
I have a dogtra td 2700. Only 1 collar. Do I need to put the collar on his neck? Can I use his neck collar on his belly with similar results. Or do I need 2 collars? Thanks for taking the time to make videos.
Hi, A question about keeping Pigeons. Do you allow your dogs to visit the loft? Just wondered if this would encourage them to become to familiar with the birds so may not "point" those pigeons out in the field because they may feel that they are pets so ignore them. I have been thinking of putting a loft up and just looking where to position it. Great videos and really well presented and top quality.
Been watching several of these when you say stimulation are you shocking her? Not sure if your collar is just viberating or shocking. I Like what your doing trying to figure out if I can do it with the collars I’ve got
To me no & wow to similar in sound , I use stay ! When teaching Heel i stop dog stands don’t make sit on pointing field Dog ! Or you could use Stand instead of Wow !
When you get a low drive dog in for training like this, do you get to a point where you tell the owners -look we have tried and tried but your dog really doesnt like any of this and may not be suited to hunting?
YAWA question. My wife and i adopted a puppy about 3 weeks ago we have a 4year old non hunting dog and the puppy we adopted is about 7 months old. I am wanting to try to train the puppy to hunt. He is of unknown origin but our vet said he thinks Max(the puppy) is a vizsla lab mix. Max seems like he’s had no formal training and I’ve been trying to work with him on basic obedience and trying to build retrieving desire. The issue I’m having is he doesn’t seem to really pay attention to me when I’m trying to do training sessions unless it’s a feeding time session where I’m rewarding him with treats of his meal. He also has pretty low retrieving desire. Any tips tricks or input would be appreciated. Thanks guys!
YAWA question- I was wondering if you offer your patrons an opportunity to come out and train with you. I'd 100% be interested in coming out to "help" train. 1-2 days for a novice to come out to watch/learn.
Oh man, what a happy-looking dog, tail tucked between the legs, as you strap a e collar around her lower belly (which they are not made for).....You may want to rethink you way of training dogs.
That has GOT to be a show setter! Find a nice pet home for this dog. Stop wasting valuable time and effort. At the end of your efforts, you will have an "OK" bird dog - nothing near what a well-bred working setter has to offer, out of the box!
@@StandingStoneKennels I should probably know about a dog's stress factor after 45 years as a trainer for pointing dogs. It still can easily be trained without electronic devices
This is sick! Train your dogs without shock collars or don't have a dog! You should be ashamed of yourself! I cannot watch this. Put it on yourself and shock yourself, see how far you get. Terrible owners!!
Every dog trainer who uses e collars has tried them on themselves. Believe it or not, we love our dogs and wouldn’t use something on them that causes true pain.
I feel the same, this kind of training will only inflict fear, using positive reinforcement works waaaay better. I can't believe the way this guy trains his dog and treats his pigeons, keeping them in a bag like that. Not ok.
While I think that maybe they've rushed this dog a bit with the EC, I can guarentee you that this is a way more understandable to the pup than 95% of the other options available. While I am sure there are still a few "Amish Style" trainers around, virtually all modern gun dog trainers use a modern EC because if used properly is the lowest pressure way to communicate with a pup.
Why do you use E Collars. No good trainer would use them, they are disgusting. Shock collars are banned in most country’s. Try training without cruelty
It's good to see a training video where the dog is not already trained. It allows new owners/trainers to learn how to overcome different obstacles.

look at her shivering once u put it on her belly. If shes not into why force her? do u use these techniques on your kid?
