I love how Faith brought in the Clark Sisters style of singing into her music. Her "runs" were SICK!! Between her and Coko I don't know who did it better besides the Clark Sisters
Kierra Clark sang this at her wedding. That’s what brought me here. I had to go watch for Faiths version live. Kierra killed it of course. Sang her face off.
Faith has always been a killer vocalist! People also need to remember Faith, Biggie, Lil Kim and all of them were VERY young during this time. I don’t think they were even 25 yet.
This is still one of the greatest performances I’ve ever encountered. She sung tF outta this song 🫠 No auto tune …just absolute great back up vocals & Faith in baby goat mode all over that album! #dropsMic ✌🏽😂
I wonder what dipshits would say something like that? Whoever would say some shit like they are either jealous, they have no taste, Faith Evans' music is not their style, or they asses were or are aspiring singers and they asses never made it.
You can tell when an R&B soul singer (male or female) is seriously into a song when they don't open their eyes while they're singing, and or they seem oblivious to their background vocalists or the audience.
I can't stand the recorded version. I've been playing this version for years. I fee the same way about eyrka Badue Next Lifetime done live on BET. I"m still looking for that on youtube
Her vocals are unbelieveable....Incredible....Damn I need a new faith album that showcases her talent and not what the label wants....Faith we miss you.
I was 9 when this came out. My cousins and I were playing outside and she went to go inside for something and she called me in and there was Faith. I literally stopped dead in my tracks and was mesmerized. I left the house all opened. lol. I wanted to sound just like her. I like when she said "That you are the one, the only one. That's for meeeee." That's my part!
This performance was all the way on point from the background singers' voices to the effortless runs from a sitting Faith Evans - "I try to remember" 2:10; standing - 4:52.
I'm actually much more impressed with someone that can bring something fresh to one of their songs when singing live. I love Faith though and I agree that she sounds just as good here as she does in the studio.
It took 30 or 40 seconds to realize this was live vocals because she changed one of the runs... how yo background and lead both gonna come out and be so pristine!
In her book she talks about this performance and how she and her friend were outside smoking a blunt and got caught. She was really close to being thrown off the show from it too.. LOL
I loved her first album... in Australia it didn't even rate a blip... she's coming for a concert in April and I really hope she plays her early stuff... her love songs are just something else. "Won't you come over and make love to me cause I haven't seen you in a while really miss your smile"
This is my favorite song by Faith. This very performance stopped me from F****** one night just to hear her SANG this song. I remember stopping and saying “Damn Babe, she Blowing” and the intensity of the song made the Love Making that much more Intense. To this beautiful song, cause I Came Over that night….😊
LOVE THIS. True classic! I have this on VHS too. Video Soul was the sh*t back in the day. Donnie Simpson, Sherry Carter, the Midnight Love DJ. Dayum this brings back memories. Faith was sAngin' her a** off on this. She has that voice that just drip emotions. (lol @ backing vox. but she took control over her lead and blew them out the box, didn't she?) Thanks for sharing.
OMG one of my FAVORITE songs on her 1st CD. I still have this whole performance on VHS!!! I remember it came on BET when she 1st came out!!! Bless you 4 posting this!
wow, faith ate that up, i remember seeing this back in the day freshman year! aww! She is definitely a "baby Karen" lol and yes that one background singer was flat and off a bit. But Faith was amazing! She was coming hard for someone's crown back in the day and you know who it is and we don't have to say her name!
I fell in love with her since the moment I heard her voice. She’s such a brilliant artist. She made for me not be the best stage performer, but her voice is transcendent
omg!! i been waiting for some nice person to put this on here. i saw this only one time but never forgot it. when i 1st got on youtube in '06 there were very little live videos of her. but now i saw keep it coming. THANK YOU! i used to read all her articles and save them back in the day. i would love to see old interviews and home video of her singing. she was so gangsta but innocent looking to me. reminded me of my favorite cousin she was a church/ street- smart girl.
lol i read that too in her book! i love that album even more after reading the book. she was really in love and was really going through some deep shit yo.
Can we talk about how on point her background singers are....this is beautiful teamwork..... ❤
I was thinking the same fire
Faith did backgrounds and vocal arranging before she got her deal. It’s her will house
Everybody was on point and it showed more when they finished in acapella!
Very on point
This song has always put chills down my spine. It's RnB perfection
doointhedoo I just had a chilling moment
FACTUALLLL!!!
💯💯💯
Golden.
I DONT WANNA FIGHT YA!!!!!.....❤
the way she sang this right here 👆 🥹😩💘💞💕
I love how Faith brought in the Clark Sisters style of singing into her music. Her "runs" were SICK!! Between her and Coko I don't know who did it better besides the Clark Sisters
U ARE SO RIGHT💯‼️‼️
Me when I got to do a number two... its called the heavy runs 🏃♂️ 😔 😳...
@@Mikegrown12 how clever 😅😂
It’s so crazy you wrote this because she sung this song with Kierra Sheard-Kelly at her wedding last weekend :)
Kierra Clark sang this at her wedding. That’s what brought me here. I had to go watch for Faiths version live. Kierra killed it of course. Sang her face off.
Them backup singers are SANGING!! Omg && FAITH GIRL 😩😩😩😩
Faith has always been a killer vocalist! People also need to remember Faith, Biggie, Lil Kim and all of them were VERY young during this time. I don’t think they were even 25 yet.
VERY UNDERRATED VOCALIST OF THE MID 90’S AND LETS NOT FORGET HER PEN 🖊️ SHE HAS WRITTEN SONGS FOR ARTIST BIGGER THAN HER
How does she sound just as good if not better than the record? Whew chile.
Good vocal technique and understanding of vocal lines!!
@@revolutionishere the background singers as well they didn't miss a beat!
@@Tiffany-wi9fh I mean, some of the background singers. One of them was off key and the real fans know exactly who but anyway.
@@revolutionishere Was it the one singing the soprano one?
She a beast been here since 95 im still rocking this album 2024❤
This is still one of the greatest performances I’ve ever encountered. She sung tF outta this song 🫠 No auto tune …just absolute great back up vocals & Faith in baby goat mode all over that album! #dropsMic ✌🏽😂
All FACTS! ❤
faith killed this..and her first cd was the biz...she's a great singer and i think she was and has been slept on for so long...
faiths voice epitomised the essence of 95 new York rnb and soul. come over is a true testament of the power and emotion within her voice
I disagree. I would sat mjb did
@@ertfgghhhh I disagree also
both of them did , mary brought the emotion , faith the nostalgia
I agree
She’s sitting down and killing it!! 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
BACKGROUND CARRRRRIED this song 🔥🔥🔥🔥
My fave voice ever! It’s her tone ! It is like rain and silk!
Yes
I hate when folks try to claim that faith Evans can't sing.i be like boy you are crazy this lady can go hell i want to sound like her lol
I wonder what dipshits would say something like that? Whoever would say some shit like they are either jealous, they have no taste, Faith Evans' music is not their style, or they asses were or are aspiring singers and they asses never made it.
Who said that? Lol
@@janl4805 a lot of people do unfortunately

The Patti of my generation. Mary is Aretha. The 90’s were dark hot days. Lol.
FOR REAL
She's more of the Chaka of her generation. Especially with the high notes.
More like Karen Clark.
And Lauryn is Roberta
I swear, those vocals. Her voice was not like any other.
Antonique Smith portrayed Faith Evans very well the movie Notorious.
Warren K Bell Jr yess if not better ❤️
Yo she sound just like the original track ...
tell me she cant sing, this live version sound better then the album
I can't stand the recorded version. I've been playing this version for years. I fee the same way about eyrka Badue Next Lifetime done live on BET. I"m still looking for that on youtube
Both are great but I like the studio version more cause its more clean.
Oh h like that studio magic perfection type of sound? Not the more rawness? That's okay.
Her vocals are unbelieveable....Incredible....Damn I need a new faith album that showcases her talent and not what the label wants....Faith we miss you.

MY introduction to faith was kinda the same way.
I was 11 years old tho or 10
Yessssssss
STANDING OVATION deserved & she was holding back….Faith is something special…My FAVORITE Singer…church girl at heart.❤
Yeeeees! Love me some Faith! ❤
For me faith is certainly top 5 vocalist
This performance was all the way on point from the background singers' voices to the effortless runs from a sitting Faith Evans - "I try to remember" 2:10; standing - 4:52.
1 of thee BEST VOICES of our time, none other than Ms. Faith "Fizzy" Evans from #TheBricks #JerseyGirl !!!!
#LivingLEGEND
So raw. So green. So pure. This was the very first time i ever saw or heard her and instantly knew she was a star....in the making.
The first time I heard her was at the Apollo 1995 singing Soon As I Get Home.
This is what hooked me from the first note of the chorus !!!!! INSTANT FAITH EVANS FAN SINCE !!!
This performance made me instantly go out and buy the album when it came out June 30 1995.
I'm actually much more impressed with someone that can bring something fresh to one of their songs when singing live. I love Faith though and I agree that she sounds just as good here as she does in the studio.
Faith was really Karen Clark Jr. That tone and those riffs..wow
And dressed like Dorinda
rnb at its best 90s rnb 4 ever
My favorite female vocalist and the background singers were on point
I feel ya..Sitting here in my window thinking of nothing but your face....she straight killed that part.
It took 30 or 40 seconds to realize this was live vocals because she changed one of the runs... how yo background and lead both gonna come out and be so pristine!
3:24 oooouuuuuuuu,,,,,😊once she stood up it was a wrap ❤❤❤
In her book she talks about this performance and how she and her friend were outside smoking a blunt and got caught. She was really close to being thrown off the show from it too.. LOL
Let her smoke a blunt on stage if she can sing like this.
What show was it? This sound as good as the song on the album
😮😂😅
Kikey16 I gotta get this bong
Kikey16 no way lollll omg it makes me appreciate this performance even more, if that’s possible. Or at least gives me a little chuckle loll
she is literally the karen clark sheard of RnB
The runs are so clean
Heat Faith Murdered This Track
Her voice is so beautiful!!

"Won't you come over and make love to me cause I haven't seen you in a while really miss your smile"
Can't get over Faith.. hands down my fave artist. It's 2023 and I'm still reminiscing back to the 90s
She looks and sounds great! Thanks for posting! Jesus has gifted her with an amazing voice.
They don't do it like that no more.. a whole 5 minute song 👏🏾👏🏾
Watch this 1million times
an incredible brave and talented singer. i love you faith!!
She a beast, i been here since 95 im still rocking this album 2024❤
Those in attendance of this performance were lucky. If I was there, I would have just watched Faith sing this song and swayed to that bass.
Of my favorite song, one omy favorite singer of all time! Great job Faith, great job background singers! No matter for quality
That is Faith is so serious...she had no stage skills...just singing her face off!! so much pain in her face!! I believed every note!!
Background vocals 👌🏽❤️
