On the basis of your review, l went out today and exchanged my Skoda Kamiq for the Korando Pioneer in black with cream and black interior. Your off road review sealed the deal. I'm picking it up on Tuesday. Thanks for an excellent, balanced and very clear review.
Thank you for your comment Ross. I'm happy you enjoyed the review. I always try my best to be unbiased in my reviews so you can make a decision regarding visiting a dealership and taking the next step.
Great review as always. A very impressive car and looks good. Plenty of room and nice well balanced design. May be a future replacement for my Hyundai!
Quite decent reviews but SsangYong have been going through the Courts and the last I read liquidation was being considered as no perspective buyers found. Warranties would be worthless and used values would plummet like the Rover 75 when Rover folded. Anyone got an update ?
Residual values are usually the down fall of this company, however you are not paying a lot to get into one, so I suppose this evens it out to some degree. Usual good review.
Thank you for the comment Bob. Yes Ssangyong will be a brand that has a high depreciation for now. But look at how Kia and Hyundai have crept up the ranks.
Thank you for your comment. Smaller engines are now becoming the norm and they are proving to be tried and tested options to go for. If in any doubt, just go for the more powerful variant.
Hi David . I have to tell you that I like your content better than this made by your main competitor, Matt from carwow. Can you please tell me whereabout / in which English district you normally filming as the locations looks gorgeous ? Cheers.
Thank you for the comment. In terms of interior quality, rear space and (depending on spec) boot space the HS wins. If you need to go off-road and engine options the Korando wins there. I advise to test drive both. I’d say the HS just nips it for the win.
Auto Bears Thank you for your response. I have been deliberating between the two for a while now and your comment really helps me a lot as coming from someone who has extensively reviewed both. I am in favour of the MG HS as well in terms of the overall practicality but like you suggested will take them both for a test drive.
After watching your video I went and bought a ssangyong korando pioneer 1.6 4x2 , I am very disappointed with this car . Very poor fuel consumption. I would never recommend this car. So anyone even thinking about buying this car should think again. If you can try and rent one for one or two weeks.
My friend has had one for 2 years and I love going out with her on long drives. I've driven Mercedes, Volvo and BMW and I like this the best. She's had not one issues at all, plus 7 year warrantee.
Waste of money, poor resale value. One part exchange company told me it's a rubbish car , it's a unknown brand in England and Europe. Save your money and buy a well established brand.
I’m sorry to hear you had a poor experience with your Korando. I found it to be a decent car. Granted you can spend much more money on an “established” brand.

What a refreshing change to watch a car review which is totally unbiased unlike the reviews from Carwow, What Car etc. Great review really enjoyed it.

Looked at other reviews of this last year late on and this review has cemented the Korando as my top 3 to get into this year. Great stuff thank you.
You are most welcome.
I've got a 2016 version, driven vw and mercedes for years then got one of these. Underrated suv's.
So glad to read this. Pays to do your research, that's why i'm getting a Korando mid spec. Arrives in two months, can't wait!
Agree, sounds like a decent reviews, and people will benefit from an honest reviews when tuned in. Keep it up. Thank you
Thank you very much. I am happy you enjoyed the review. I always try to be honest and unbiased.
I like how the design is carefully considered.
Great review as always. A very impressive car and looks good. Plenty of room and nice well balanced design. May be a future replacement for my Hyundai!
Thank you for the comment Andrew. Ssangyong have indeed come along way and keen to see what the future holds.
Good review. You deserve more views
Excellent review....forget badge snobbery..could be my next car.
How reliable is this car compared to the kias and hyundais ?
How solid is the chassis and suspension ?
Thank you for the comment. The Ssangyong Korando is a very dependable car and was very impressed with the ride comfort both on and off-road.
Great review....what was the fuell consumption on your test drive?
would you rather buy this ssangyong korando or the MG HS and do both hold the road well in windy weather ,cheers

They got purchased by Edison Motors (Korean Bus Company).
The guys seem to shake all over even in the tarmac.. Is the suspension is too soft that moving that much?
As I live in Highlands of Scotland the weather can be rubbish. You see quite alot of ssangyong around me. People I've spoken too seen to like them.
Owned now by massive Indian company....looks good...warranty is the sell for me...7 years

@@AutoBears valid point
Full size spare wheel has become an option on most crossovers. I dont trust the small turbo charged engines, 2.0 could have been better.

a pity SSangyong withdrew from South Africa and Mahindra did not really promote the Korando
Very good review.oops really nice new motor from ssangyong.
Hi, viewer from Australia here. Which one would you say is better overall - Ssangyong Korando vs MG HS? Thanks!

Lovely car but very thirsty!

This is not a real person! I saw this comment in a lot of Korando s reviews on TH-cam 🙄
