So you lighten then tone then applied another color all in one setting ? Did u rinse after u toned and how long did the overall process take ?

Yes- lighten, tone and Vivids application all in one session
Yes- rinse after root Smudge and toner before applying Vivids
Overall appointment took approximately 5-6 hours but depends on length/ amount of hair and how many vivid colours are being applied.
I don’t always tone in between lightening and Vivids. Depends on the canvas and desired end result

Why would you tone the blonde if you’ll be applying vivid color over it ?

Great question! Toning the hair first allows for a truer final tone. For example, had Allie put the blue directly on un-toned yellow hair, the result would have ended up more teal because blue and yellow make green.
Toning isn’t always necessary it just depends on what you want your final result to and which tones you are hoping to cancel out.
