Psy fucking owned 2012 at that time. He made the world bow to their knees and we all did. People enjoyed it because it wasn't taken seriously and was only for fun, so we appreciated it.
We live almost near the outback in Australia and our neighbour was playing this on full blast back when this song got popular and that's saying something.
This song was THE opening song to the dance floors at like every fucking wedding for 2 years, in Brazil.
I'm in Australia too and this song was the school bell for a bit and the school made us learn the dance for the year 6 farewell
