you must see the movie "28 days later", it's exactly that scenario. The intro to the movie is the main character waking up in hospital from a coma or something, and he gets out and finds a wasteland zombie apocalypse
I agree. Someone else here says it can be annoying...so I think "Why not make it a bit more subtle and randomized?" A happy (or unsettling) balance where you know it's the wheelchair, but it's only occasionally. Still a little annoying? Maybe. People are creeped by things that "aren't quite working right" just about as much as "things that happen without much predictability."
Hard disagree. The wheelchair noises are way too loud and get annoying fast. And the gieger counter doesn't sound like one. Its sounds like a machine gun going off a mile away or angry popcorn
Some suggestions that might make this game worth developing into a commercial title: 1) vision cones so that we can't see whats behind us but can only hear the enemies. 2) Enemies that are blind but will react and respond/follow any noise/sounds. So whenever you move, u are sure to attract some enemies unless you are moving very slow, you might add tiles that break and make sound while going over them. You can add a mechanic like throwing glass bottles etc to lure them away. 3) The player can get out of the wheelchair and crawl on ground trading speed for stealth. It would make room for interesting level designs.
woah, this looks insane! no doubt i’m checking it out! 18 hours no less, that’s real talent for such a simple and short yet beautifully put together masterpiece!
Man, Miz's so great and talented at making games with original themes and polishing them in little time but with a lot of creativity. Just wanted to point that out after watching most of his videos, specially his horror games.
Love the unique style of gameplay and most of all the movement. Games with unique movement thats fun and intuitive is always super interesting to me :)
Dude, that was frigging genius! Idk how you came up with all that in such a short time, let alone did it so simply and elegantly. Kudos, Miz! I gotta get some lessons from you, man. ;)
Just awesome. I need more of these type of videos in my feed. The way you explained it's design and brought it to life helps me think a lot clearly. I would love to try and make something based on this design sys for my next jam ❣️.
C'mon, how else are these 11-year-olds going to get their sense of validation when their mothers are shut away with opioids and their fathers haven't come back from going out to get milk three years ago.
I played it right after LD. Annoying squeaky sounds and not the friendliest controls (by design) add a lot to the overall experience. I recommended it to one streamer who needed to breath for a moment after finishing it, but I do not want to spoil. His live reaction was precious ;-)
One thing I think maybe doesnt fit the genre is the fact that you can see through walls. It makes the zombies not that scary. Great game btw, so creative.
i think making the player see only what can the person on the wheel chair. the fact that you can see the zombie trough walls kinda ruins the scary atmosphere. like yeah theres a zombie in that room so i definitely wont go into that room. but overall it looks very cool
Sound design is on point honestly while in more high intensity games it gets annoying with 20 loud noises just a slower one with changing ones always impress me because it feels too quiet rather than too loud
I know how to make it scarier, let the Player get Stuck and tilt his Position when he crashes Walls from a low angle so you lose speed each time and when get chased you have to escape perfectly
now that endoparasitic is done, this to be it's sequel since it would make sense for the protag, who is now crippled, to find a wheelchair and find another way out.
WROUGHT FLESH PLEASE IM SO EXCITED WHEN IS IT RELEASING IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE 18TH IVE BEENFOLLOWING THIS GAME SINCE YOU FIRST STARTED TALKIG ABOUT IT PLEASEEE ANSWERS
you should have made the eneimes ask for help and water and deteriorate over time making them more red (to resemble their skin falling off) and their voices become more unintelligible
Cool game, but the geiger counter sound is a little weird. Also, I wouldn’t make the story notes and terminals full screen, since it pulls players out of the environment.
I can't believe you did 'II-III-V' which means '2, 3, 5' and not 'CCXXXV' which would be '235' This is like that post of a high school poster reading "Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 'II-0-I-V'"
Hey bro how about put a effect while you going too fast with wellchair, when you hit bed, tabe or etc. You fell the wellchair and drag yourself to whellchair.
it must suck to escape the hospital and realize you're in a zombie apocalypse
and the whole nuclear oblivion thing must suck too lol
Stuck in a wheelchair with Rage zombies or Dawn of the Dead zombies
you must see the movie "28 days later", it's exactly that scenario. The intro to the movie is the main character waking up in hospital from a coma or something, and he gets out and finds a wasteland zombie apocalypse
ayo polymars, you should make more SDL videos
@@KyranFindlater Well, The Walking Dead too.
Sound design and execution is so on point. The fact that the wheelchair is squeaky makes the whole thing that much more unsettling...
I feel it can also have the reverse effect. It seems a bit abnoxious.
It's also makes it incredibly annoying
I agree. Someone else here says it can be annoying...so I think "Why not make it a bit more subtle and randomized?"

Dev duck I love your Dauphin series (:
I feel like he's slowly creating a small post apocalyptic world with his horror games from perspectives of different people.
Endoparasitic is the mutated infection part
I mean, iirc he said Endoparisistic was in the same universe as Wrought Flesh, yeh?
@@SheepUndefined Endoparasitic Protagonist and the dude in the wheel chair finna gonna be an apocalyptic duo bro.
@@Y0LOANIMATOR Including the car dude (in another game miziziz made)
i love how straight to the point these videos are, no fannying about, just pure gamedev
absolute magic man
@@nomoreprivacyanymore yeessss!
I showed that one to my brother when he was making a tutorial
Super useful!
God dang it I have yet another another doppelganger.

At the cost of speed and a wheelchair*
then its basically kinda like endoparasitic
woah, this looks insane! no doubt i’m checking it out! 18 hours no less, that’s real talent for such a simple and short yet beautifully put together masterpiece!
Love seeing how much more polished each game you make looks, makes it all the more clear practice and finishing games helps
thats such a cool movement system. honestly you're one of the reasons im still doing game dev, just very inspiring

Bruh how come there's no horror movie where the hero/survivor is in a wheel chair, that shit would be absolutely terrifying from the get go.
Your games are so awesome and filled with so much atmosphere !
I've been waiting to see this, and it was definitely worth the wait!
Just awesome. I need more of these type of videos in my feed.

Sound design is extremely on point, really adds a lot to the atmosphere
You make it sound so easy! I guess that's a given when you write a summary.
This is a wonderful expansion on the previous video, and it makes me excited to see how you tackle future projects :)
You're probably my favorite gamedev channel Miz. Extremely creative ideas with clear workflows. Really gets my brain going when you upload, respect!
true horror can be experienced when your mouse just runs out of batteries, just in front of a radioactive zombie who may want to cuddle
its insane that your tick toke did so well. it really is alot easier
Yeav, the long awaited sequel to Yeek (a post modern rpg)
I read yeet. I am ashamed.
you are the best for horror content; love that sound and atmosphere
The fact that the enemies are not hostile but really are just trying to get help adds so much to the game.
I would love a full game of this after you finish up with Endoparasitic. This has so much potential and could be such a good horror game
Guys, the video came out a minute ago, you can't just say that you fully watched it and it's cool .. But really, it's cool

Survival horror character had no legs, this guy has disabled legs....Next game he's gonna have hands for legs!
great video man!! really appreciate all the work you do!
i was able to fly past the uranium at the computer. fun and agile wheelchair movement
you nailed it Miziziziz, Art is on point, sound is spectacular, I love the movement mechanics and even the zombies lore is great!
The sounddesign of this game is insane
I love it

It's always cool to see the small set of skills you pick adding up overtime.
Super cool! The ambience is very creepy.
"I was done, except for the jumpscare."
thank goodness.
"you'll have to find that yourself though >:)"
NOOOOO
yea that was a bitchy jumpscare. probably scared me the most out of any horror game i played
Super nicely done. Simple concept, but looks very effective!😁
You're on a roll with content lately. Love it. (No pun intended)
i love your videos. saw the notification and insta clicked
thanks for not adding the jumpscare in the video, i was panicked
THESE VIDS ARE SOO INSPIRING!!!!! I was bored found something new to do
The jumpscare when you escape really got me lol

This was fun to watch. Great work
Dude this awesome! Very unique movement system
Though the game is 2D but the concept is really awesome.
The sound is also very good👍
Sound design is on point honestly while in more high intensity games it gets annoying with 20 loud noises just a slower one with changing ones always impress me because it feels too quiet rather than too loud
Jeez, I've got chills down my spine just by seeing this!
Im still blown away by the movement you made
Looks pretty spooky. The zombies remind me of the mondasian cybermen
Someone give those monsters some painkillers for them headaches.
Tile mapping for shadows is one of my favorite Godot effects.
Goddammit I really thought the jumpscare wouldn't get me.
I know how to make it scarier, let the Player get Stuck and tilt his Position when he crashes Walls from a low angle so you lose speed each time and when get chased you have to escape perfectly
imaging how fun this would be in vr
I hope I can be creative like you. I mean within a short period of time you were able to think and create a unique game idea like this.
If may I ask? What Website or app or other that you're using to create all of this creation?
I love your works.
I really hope this would be the Endoparasitic's sequel
What makes this game horror:
It's unsettling background music
Sound effects that causes anxiety
Limited visibility, uncertainty yields terror
TH-cam algorithm really nailed this one lol
I have to make a game for uni in 5 days but idk if I’ll succeed
miziziziz average game:lol ur crippled
now that endoparasitic is done, this to be it's sequel since it would make sense for the protag, who is now crippled, to find a wheelchair and find another way out.
I gotta know how do you make this pseudo 3d effect with tilemaps for 2d topdown. Any tutorials? Willing to literally pay for this info.
Hector Salamanca Moment:

did you intentionally mispronounce Vignette and Reverb so people would comment about it
I just forgot how they were pronounced
you can scoot around the fire scene and skip disbaling things
Thank you so much now I can make a darkwood like.
All you need is it to be dark and have minecraft cave sounds
YO THAT'S MY BOY KARIS
1:48 All you can do is RUN LMAO
The art/cursor style reminds me a lot of Darkwood lol
Why is it that horror games have the worse audio? “Well what games have you made lately!?” Good point I’ll quit me bitching
Never have i heard somebody call a Vignette "vig-net" before
the only thing i didnt like is the improper roman numerals
II III V isnt 235, it’s 2 3 5
correct way to do it is CCCXXXV
This is a dream of mine to be able to do this stuff.
that jumpscare doe :(((9(9
the jumpscare was in time...
KARIS??!!

Next time it will be physiological horror
So,just watching Teletubbies at 3AM?
Cool game, but the geiger counter sound is a little weird. Also, I wouldn’t make the story notes and terminals full screen, since it pulls players out of the environment.
i had fun with that command thing
this motivates me to finish my horror game
You and David R. B. should make a game together.
I can't believe you did 'II-III-V' which means '2, 3, 5' and not 'CCXXXV' which would be '235'
This is like that post of a high school poster reading "Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 'II-0-I-V'"
Novum on scroll wheel woudl be interesting for wheelchair
The game was quite frustrating as I could barley move although it was quite fun when I wasnt punching my computer
You should have some oil around to make the squeaking go away for a few meters.
you little ... i played till the end and didnt expect what came.
It’s Simon!
Very nice!
Is this The Karis Model You Used For Endo 2?
He makes them in 2 days TWO DAYS
It would've been wayyy much scarier if the player is only able to see the surrounding area, and not just every room the camera goes above.
