Definitely don't mind the ripmo on the decent tho. Had a bit more squish than I'm used to in the last couple years. Had a little Dh bike nostalgia with that coil fork you've got. Fun day!

My man, as always, glad to see those post college checks are clearing with the new bike! Never been a big fan of ibis, feels kinda the “rich kid” or the bike brands. Some of the small more trail bike stuff people seem to like, but the higher end stuff I don’t see too much.
It’s funny, those “all mountain” bikes are now seemingly more like enduro bikes, but enduro bikes are now more set up like DH Bikes, and DH bikes are literal monster trucks.
I’d try to settle into it a bit, but if you’re not feeling comfortable definitely wouldn’t keep it. My Stumpjunper Comp Alloy is a bit frail for what I want it to do as an “all mountain” but it’s light enough to get by, even on some of the dh stuff.
Hopefully see you at creek soon with that thing. Going Saturday I think and gonna check out the monster downhill series, too.

Thanks Denny, I am a little disappointed since I felt like so many people were raving about this bike...but I'm not even looking into selling it soon since the used market is so bad right now.
I think I'd be better off sticking to the 130-140mm travel range since a good geometry and 29ers is really enough to get away with a lot. I'm not trying to have a plow machine.
Looking forward to Creek too, but don't have any plans yet, been really busy lately. Hopefully we'll run into each other someday!

$1500 more for the Habit bc it is a carbon frame. Try installing1-2 more volume spacers in your Ripmo, if it is sinking too deep into the initial travel, and then run lower air pressure. I looked at and rode so many bikes that were 2023 overstock, including these 2. They are both great bikes, but I found a better deal, and I think a bike of equal or better quality/performance.
Decided on a Rocky Mountain Instinct C30 with a full Deore group set, Marzocchi Z2 Rail 150mm, Fox DPS 140mm, WTB SSi wheels, Maxxis DHF/DHR, Ride9 geo adjustability, etc.-- $2800 USA from Jenson. I bought it bc of the price, frame, geo adjustability, and I swapped my higher end stuff off my older Stumpjumper... XTR derailleur, carbon bars, and XT brake calipers.
I live and ride mostly in OH, so more than 150/140 trail bike is not needed for the natural trails in the region. A lot of climbing and short steep descents. Nice vid, and the you guys were having a blast. That is the best payoff.

The Rocky Mountain sounds like a good deal for sure, I paid just shy of $3k to get my Ripmo to my door. I'm may look elsewhere, but for now the used market is pretty bad so might just wait a while. I'm not riding a ton currently and have my hardtail for more mellow terrain. At the same time...there are so many deals out there right now...hmm lol. Glad you are enjoying the RM though!
