Johnny Marr has brought a new energy and musicality to this band. "Ignore the Ignorant" is a masterpiece! I haven't been this excited about an album that Marr made since "Strangeways, Here We Come..."
This is what a band really doesn when taking care of the first fans and trying to catch their attention all the way through! The addiction you can feel towards this band is abstract and pretty undeniable. I look ath their debut album and I still get goosebumps because of the depth and the fulfilling vibes created! Whenever they drop a new album they widen their scale of fans, this cycle is endless and it's worth jumping into the energy of their inspired and sincere medleys!
Marr´s lines on this song are masterful. This is the Marr I will miss in The Cribs but I´m really eager to listen what their new album sounds like... amazing band.
A real coup getting Marr involved with the Cribs. I honestly think this band are one of the best British bands we have had for a while and it's nice to hear a warmer sound from them. This lot just keep getting better.
the new album is really great. I´m not a big fan of their first albums but Johnny Marr´s addition couldnt have been more fortunate. He´s a genius and his arrangements complement the songs in a fantastic way.
Well to all you people bashing Johnny Marr, the making of the video thats on myspace confirms Gary wrote the basis of the song. Why are you complaining anyway? Its a class song!
johnny marr is a fuckin legend.. he put a brilliant influence,,his trademark in the cribs songs..raw sound of the cribs added with his harmonised guitar sound..
Really loving the new stuff. I couldn't give a fuck if it sounds more "mainstream" or commercial or whatever, as long as it's good. This to me just sounds like an already great band evolving and maturing in to something fantastic.
Used to listen to them a lot back then, didnt really know much about them, recently I found out Johnny Marr was doing some songs with them and it all started to make sense. now im revisiting them again :D
I really like how they've changed - and I really LOVE both the cribs and the smiths sound - and I like how they're experimenting with blurring the boundaries between the two :).
Going to see them this coming monday @ the roxy in los angeles!!! Saw them last year at the El Rey in LA as well! I love this new progression they have made.
The new guitarist..is Johnny Marr he is of super group status.. him being in the band has changed the dynamic... its very good.. he is bringing a little bit of The Smtihs to the 21st Century.. of course he is needed!
Good to see that someone thinks just like that! Don't understand people that hate Johnny Marr's participation in The Cribs or one who thinks that these guys are too talentless to be in a band with him. I like them both and think that their collaboration allowed to be born such a beautiful and passionate album as Ignore The Ignorant!
Look how rad they look as a four piece. That double guitar attack. Love the cribs but i'm going to regret never have seen them as four piece with good ol Johnny Marr. I wonder how this song is going to be as 3 piece.. i can imagine it still pretty intense but a lot more raw and simplified
This is a tune, Johnny Marr is my Jesus and he sounds great, nice slide parts in the song. Xharlixase, its a top part from Johnny :) - remember that he layed all the smiths parts and they probably had 1 track each with the cribs - diff music- diff sound
Same, at the junction :) Mans Needs and city of bugs were the absolute shit, and i drank from marrs water bottle! Didnt you think Adam Green (the 2nd support) was great?
I have to say, this album from what I've heard is still the cribs but, most likely due to Johnny Marr's entrance, is quite Smiths influenced. Like it! :)
A lot of Cribs fans will say Marr isn't needed, which may be a valid point. But, maybe it is a master stroke bringing him in to the fold as he is a legend and will make the band bigger and more popular. There is no doubt Marr is a quality guitar player though.
I could be someone else if you’d rather Try to win you over like a new step father smart but still a sucker for whoever asks you i pictured the scene so you wont have to spell it out for me cause things go together better than others like manic depression and active sexuality that’s another, that’s another cheat on me, cheat on me yeah that’s another, that’s another cheat on me, cheat on me yeah Giving up, without a thought And then you’ll be the chosen one Through which your friends live vicariously cause things go together better than others like manic depression and active sexuality That’s another, that’s another Cheat on me, cheat on me yeah that’s another, that’s another cheat on me, cheat on me yeah
Johnny Marr can play on and enhance any track. Not sure Cribs fans will think so but a great song. You can always tell his guitar playing. probably what they needed to get them really recognised like they deserve
@CunnyFunt333 I don't follow what you're saying. The Cribs have been building momentum with killer records for years, and sales of a new record are usually a mark of the previous album's reception. The best indication will be on the next release. If it sells less, it's a good indication that this record was less well-received. Of course, I'm not discounting the possibility that everyone will love the new record over the old ones. All I know is that I miss the old days of staccato guitar riffs.
Johnny Marr is the MVP of all of the million bands he’s been in. the Smiths, Modest Mouse, The Cribs. The man is a national treasure
10 years later and still loving this
11 YEARS and still x

Johnny Marr has brought a new energy and musicality to this band. "Ignore the Ignorant" is a masterpiece! I haven't been this excited about an album that Marr made since "Strangeways, Here We Come..."

Johnny Marr is a fucking legend.
His distinctive guitars have made a great band brilliant.

God, this must be the greatest single I've heard in a long time.
Used to love this band!
I cant understand why this amazing song has less than one million of views, I cant believe it.
I love this song so much. I could listen to it all day long.
This is what a band really doesn when taking care of the first fans and trying to catch their attention all the way through! The addiction you can feel towards this band is abstract and pretty undeniable. I look ath their debut album and I still get goosebumps because of the depth and the fulfilling vibes created! The best outro in a song for years!
the new album is really great.

I
I’m so sorry ryan. Your songs say a lot
Johnny Marr should have stayed w The Cribs. His solo album is good but this album(Ignore the Ignorant) is so much better.
Personally I think the cribs is the best thing that happened with Johnny Marr. Their sounds go so well together
This reminds me of New Orleans
This is a great song maybe their best to date has a great vocal melody plus ...... Johnny Marr's guitar line is pretty fucking awesome!!!!!!
dunno why,but i like it!
Look how rad they look as a four piece. That double guitar attack. Love the cribs but i'm going to regret never have seen them as four piece with good ol Johnny Marr. I wonder how this song is going to be as 3 piece.. i can imagine it still pretty intense but a lot more raw and simplified
OMG this song was on "Waterloo Road" :O I just recognized it! Lol. They played the "cheat on me" bit when whatherface kissed Josh.
This is a tune, Johnny Marr is my Jesus and he sounds great, nice slide parts in the song. Xharlixase, its a top part from Johnny :) - remember that he layed all the smiths parts and they probably had 1 track each with the cribs - diff music- diff sound
What the hell was I listening to in '09??
Why did I miss this?
@bd36576 I directed this video. We actually built the whole stage in a studio because it gave us extra room to light and shoot.
Nice to know i'm not the only one.
Same, at the junction :)
Mans Needs and city of bugs were the absolute shit, and i drank from marrs water bottle!
Didnt you think Adam Green (the 2nd support) was great?

I have to say, this album from what I've heard

@Stairwaytoheaven06 you are absolutely right!

This music competes with Johnny's best.. Johnny Marr is bacck!
I could be someone else if you’d rather
Try to win you over like a new step father

Imagine having Johnny Marr in your band... can’t really go wrong
Johnny Marr can play on and enhance any track. Not sure Cribs fans will think so but a great song. You can always tell his guitar playing. probably what they needed to get them really recognised like they deserve
