In this video, we will show you , Part three of the footage of some of the animals in and around Lower Sabie rest camp.
    Lower Sabie Rest Camp:
Situated along the Sabie River, Lower Sabie Rest Camp is one of Kruger National Park’s most picturesque and wildlife-rich destinations. The camp’s lush surroundings and constant water supply make it a magnet for animals, offering visitors exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities. With its spectacular river views and proximity to some of Kruger’s most fertile game-viewing areas, Lower Sabie provides the perfect blend of comfort and adventure for nature lovers.
    Leopards of Lower Sabie
Lower Sabie is renowned for its frequent leopard sightings. Leopards are solitary and elusive animals, often found resting in trees along the riverbanks or stealthily patrolling the bush in search of prey. The dense foliage along the Sabie River offers perfect cover for these agile predators, making them more challenging to spot-but also making sightings incredibly rewarding.
Visitors are most likely to encounter leopards during early morning or late afternoon game drives when these nocturnal hunters are more active. Keep an eye out for leopards relaxing in the branches of large trees like sycamore figs or moving silently through the underbrush. The Lower Sabie area is prime leopard territory, and with patience and a bit of luck, visitors can witness these majestic cats in their natural environment.
    Hyenas of Lower Sabie
While leopards rule the trees, hyenas dominate the plains. Spotted hyenas are a common sight around Lower Sabie, especially during night drives or in the early hours of the morning. Known for their powerful jaws and distinct "laugh," hyenas are efficient scavengers and skilled hunters in their own right. Often mistaken as purely scavengers, they are also adept predators, capable of bringing down large prey like wildebeest and zebra.
Hyenas in the Lower Sabie area are often seen near the camp itself or patrolling the roads in search of food. They have adapted to the proximity of humans, sometimes scavenging near campsites or picnic spots. Night drives are particularly thrilling, as hyenas become more active after dark, and their eerie calls echo through the night, adding an exciting edge to any safari experience.
Lower Sabie offers a perfect balance of scenic beauty and thrilling wildlife encounters. From leopards prowling the riverbanks to hyenas roaming the plains, this rest camp is a must-visit for any Kruger National Park adventure.
