somehow, as soon as he said he used to be ROTC, i was like "of COURSE he was" bc every former ROTC person ive ever met who didn't go onto actually join military has somehow turned out very similar to Ruze: anti-authority, a bit punk with security in their masculinity, and a Nerd 😂 (including several of my friends and my own goddang brother)

Ngl, having ROTC mandatory (I know it is supposed to be cuz of the tips how to make u feel safe and such) giving me the creeps. I had a bad, like literally the worse Boy Scout memories I can take of (wink wink starts with b and ends with g wink wink) so having ROTC will be the mentally draining of my life. But in my case, we didn't cuz I was studied in a private institution where we have the RIGHT TO BE IN ROTC OR NOT, and I choose latter. So I think Ruze is sooo, a lucky bastard to have that kind of tricks in his sleeves that I wouldn't do, fearing to end up in somewhere corner to hehe dun dun here and there so yeah. Kudos for him for doing that
I too have an attitude problem, like badly. I hate authority figures right off the bat till they prove to me they're a good person. So it was literally impossible for me to be in ROTC.

Reserve Officer Training Corps. Basically, it's a pre-military training and orientation program for high-schoolers and college students who are planning to go into the armed services after graduation.
