Curry had one of the best scoring seasons in nba history. Not just shooting season. He had the most efficient 30 ppg season of all time. And it wasnt 50/40/90, it was 50/45/90.
Obviously curry was better offensively but let’s not overlook the fact that Kawhi shot 50/44/87
There is no point in bringing up that stat for Kawhi because if he shot 11 3s like Steph his fg drops drastically. All 50/40/90's aren't the same.

2016 Curry was shooting 50% from fg as a 6'2 guard. shooting 45% from 3 on 11 attempts. Was guarded the from half court line. Not to mention the insane gravity he holds, his amazing off ball movement. He sat out most 4th quarters, still managed to average 30. Kawhi dpoy and spurs 40-1 record don't mean shii in that scenario.
Curry’s team won 73 games. If you have any understanding of how this award works, whatsoever, you should have expected Steph to win MVP.

Led his team to a 73-9 record, averaged 30ppg/7ast/5reb on 50/45/90, led the league in steals and scoring and was outplaying other candidates head to head. He hit every single mark you'd want out of an mvp season and more. No one who watched Steph that year thought anyone else was getting that mvp.

Kawhi and 4 G league players are not going to be the best defense in the league because 1 defender cant guard 5 players. On the other hand we saw Curry and 3 G league players be the best offense in the NBA with him on the floor.
1 great offensive player can carry an offense by himself, 1 perimeter defender cannot.
