Not being a know it all but I think this is a young man taking a few short cuts that will get you hurt and hurt bad if not worse. If you’ve just started cutting on your own or even if you’ve not there are reasons for sitting wedges on back cuts and deeper back 1/3 or better. I feel you got lucky but I don’t know everything. Just stay safe and wishing you the best.
