I'm fully convinced people hate this band because they got "too real". they addressed real issues and a lot of people weren't ready for that. I love this band. This song got me through a lot. They will always be my favorite band.
they sang ones about domestic abuse, and one about making the world a better place. They've done a lot actually.

There will always be haters out there. I like to call them "small minds, big mouths". Most likely they haven't payed attention to the lyrics or listen to the the band.

It's because those people don't have the sense to just turn away from something they don't like and move on to something they do like. In Nickelback's case, they complain about the band sounding too unoriginal and cliched with their music. But I don't see how that's a bad thing even if it's true. It's just music, which (while having its place in our lives) is nothing to make so much fuss about.
Every time I listen to this song, I silently cheer for those still fighting. Know that some of us are praying for you, no matter where you are. You are loved.

This song was sent to me by a friend due to me having suicidal ideas. The reason, Im the only survivor from a fire fight over seas and ALL my buddies died. Imagine waking up in the hospital to being told that you were the only survivor. The bullet wounds have healed but my heart hasn't. But I will live the best life I can for them. That is what keeps me going. To all who are thinking of ending it just do what I do just take one day at a time. PLEASE PLEASE TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME.

Thank you for service. Different situation but this song has helped me as well. I have been suicidal with many attempts in my past. The ideation was there as well. I also had a cousin kill himself at 19 and carry the guilt of his death because I truly feel he might have heard our parents talking about me and thought that a permanent solution to a temporary problem was the answer. I never got why people called Nickelback gay... Maybe because dudes these days think that feelings are gay? All I know is that I grew up on Nickelback, Green Day, MCR, Linkin Park, etc. and the music that these guys put out saved my fucking life in the darkest moments of my life. For you guys out there that would rather call feelings gay rather than embrace them, I feel bad for you because you are missing 25% of what it means to be human because you think that feelings are un-manly or something.
You know what really takes nuts to do? Admit true feelings in front of others. If you think holding back your emotions is "manly" then you need to go re-evaluate your fucking life dude and sort your priorities.

Lucia Vargas Try and talk to her about this and see if you two can come to a common ground. It seems a bit much to not let you listen to a certain type of music. If she wouldn't let you listen to Marilyn Manson for example, I could understand with her being Christian and all, but Nickelback really isn't all that bad. They are one of the most tame rock bands in my opinion.

My main point thought, is that people say this is devil music, that this band sucks, but listen to this song! I'm still trying to get through extreme depression. I just got out the hospital and this song is really reaching out to me. i just lost someone to suicide and came close to it myself. This type of music really means a lot.
Brittney Daniels Keep your head up, nothing that I can ever say will be of help to you, but take it from someone who has tried multiple times, it's never an answer and the feeling does not go away, but it becomes easier to control. Sometimes music does just speak to our very souls. My sister has saved my life more times than I like to think about, and when I am down, I listen to this song. I am sorry about your loss, but just keep your head up, and take it one day at a time.

This song holds a different meaning to me than it saved my life. It's the song I best associate with the night I lost my girlfriend and child. The lyrics scream everything i ever felt that night. Now, going on 10 years later, I'm able to listen once more without crying. It hurts and it makes my heart ache. But I'm still here...

A super close friend of mine just tried to overdose on pills.
I didn't know of a way to help him. Anything I said, he rejected. He knew that I care about him, he just rejected it. I sent him this song and he did stop. Hopefully he's alright by tomorrow. My grandson was born with a serious illness where his heart is not good. Hes had over 30 surgeries so far. This song got my daughter and I through by playing this to my grandson every day and night and still do. May God keep him safe.

i haved always loved this song but it means a lot more to me now than it ever has. i have been very suicidle for a couple weeks now and whenever im depressed i listen to this song to help cheer me up. it gives me a reason to live again. i now relize that suicide is a permenet result to a temparary problem. i cant commit suicide because my life would end in a very negtive way and so now im going to try to live my life to the fullest because i dont know if tommorow could be my last so i say thank you nickelback for saving my life.

Trust me, I know. I've never been suicidal, but I've thought about it. But then I think, hey, this doesn't take the pain away, if anything it just makes it worse.
My first tattoo is going to be "lullaby" on my arm. This song saved my life. I'm still struggling between the loss of my grandmother and me pushing a friend away telling her how i feel. Life is so fucking cruel, but at the end of the day stuff always happens for a reason. I know this now but i wish i would've believed it before i started cutting, but I've stopped. So to anyone reading this I know you don't know me but things will get better. You gotta believe and find something worth living for. Sit back and recognize what you still got no matter how little you actually have make the most of it.

I don't get why everyone says nickel back is bad this song basically saved me
The first time I heard this song, I was 16 and in long term hospitalization for severe depression and trauma. I thought it was a dream until I found it again, seven years later, when I rebuilt my life.
I found someone who gives this song real meaning for me. I don't deserve him but I'll always be grateful for him and imagine him singing this to me when I'm alone and at one of my lower points.
back in high school, I had a friend with severe depression and I felt so helpless because he had locked himself in his room with a knife and talked about wanting to kill himself. I was so scared because I couldn't get him to answer my messages. When he finally did, I told him that I cared about him, and that his existence was beautiful. I sent him this song and he listened to it on repeat for hours. He broke down crying and threw the knife down and just thanked me for sending him this song. It saved his life.
Nickelback will always be one of my favorite bands and this song is so incredibly powerful. Anyone who says anything bad about this song or band just doesn't get it.

That statement is as true as you can get. The scar hasn't faded and it's been a year. So if you're reading this, just know that it's not worth self harming or dying over

I realize how lucky I am and then I realize what someone is going through and I read some of these comments for this song and I just want to cry and hug all of the people who is going through crap. I want to help them, save them, protect them so no one has to go through it. So they know they're safe and cared for. I have had a few downfalls but nothing like what most has gone through.

Then i finally sat and started listening to the lyrics of some songs. This one is one of the ones that helped me get better. I've been hospitalized 4 times so far. Nickelback is so underrated by people who are afraid of facing reality, which's what they often sing, and prefer to be deluded by their own fantasy. Music industry has become a crock of fiction that makes people fake their feelings, in other words; they have left out its essence, something Nickelback hasn't. That's why they're hated by many!

I love Nickelback and this happens to be one of my favorite songs by them. As someone who once considered the easy way out, this song has definitely helped me A LOT. I wasn't in the right state of mind back then and I was in a far less than ideal situation that I wouldn't even wish on my worse enemies. But I can tell each and every one of you that there is at least one person who cares about you. It doesn't matter if it's only one. You are important to at least one person. And isn't that enough to keep living for? Some people don't get the privilege to grow up in homes where everything they need is there for them.

This song has truly saved me. Literally. I have always loved nickleback but have never heard this song. 2 years ago I tried taking my life. I’m not afraid to admit it because I have come so far in those 2 years. That night I found this song. My husband found me and saved me and I checked myself in to a psychiatric hospital to get myself help. Not just for me but for my kids. It was the best decision of my life and the scariest. After I got out, I listened to this a lot when the thoughts came back. And it made me think about the future. The part that says “you’re far too young, and the best is yet to come” is what hits me and makes me realize that things may be hard now, but the future may be amazing and I would miss it all. Too many people bash nickleback but they will always be my favorite ever since I started liking my own music and will always be a huge fan but also thankful to them and they don’t even know it!! ❤️❤️

i got a call from one of my friends the other day. she called telling me she was done with life. I did everything in my power to convince her to not do what she was gonna do. I started singing this song, when i was done she said thank you and hung up. I happy to say she is a lot better now. I never see her smile more then when she hears this song.

Im sorry that you went through that. As much as a person who commits suicide believes that their pain will be over, that pain gets passed on to their friends and loved ones who get left behind. Im sure you tried to help as best as you could, but that's a lot to take on by yourself, especially for someone as young as you seem.Take it from someone who has buried friends over the years, some who took their own lives. Just hold on to the good memories, and try to be at peace with yourself.
