It's wild how it took Bugatti four more cylinders and a quad turbo to be able to match a naturally aspirated V12 from 15 years ago (at the time the Veyron was released).
Just goes to show how far ahead of time the F1 was, and still is.
And F1 wasn't even designed to be top speed record breaking car. It was purely side effect of Gordon Murray making no compromise road car. Even it is first adaptive aero car pretty much in the world, although back spoiler if i remember correctly only raised for breaking.
@@piotrj333 In fact, the F1 was nowhere near to be a candidate for victory at Le Mans when it debuted back in 1995. But its performance was so amazing that the racing teams had to adjust their expectations as the race situation evolved. And the rest is history, as they say.
Except the Veyron wasn't the first that dethroned the F1. It was the Dauer 962 Le Mans Road Car, which did 404.5 km/h (252 mph) in an official top speed test at Ehra-Lessien 1998.

@@ArturoSM01 Engine was supposed to be made by Honda but they didn't got the agreeement as Honda's NSX was F1's rival at the time and they didn't want new opponent. Well, they fucked up

Even though there are cars with higher top speeds and faster acceleration nowadays, all of them require either superchargers or turbos (or both in the case of the Zenvo ST1) and even then, some of them still struggle to reach the same performance than the F1, a car with a NA engine, no other modifications added. Back at that time, Gordon Murray and company really didn't know they were creating both a monster and a legend.
Problem is not being able to reach that performance with NA. Regulations limit your pollution which means turbos and even hybrids are mandatory these days

Reminds me of the good ol FM3 days (peak track Forza), when I'd run the SSC Ultimate Aero on literally every track, and still take podiums on handling tracks with a top speed car. I miss those days 😩

This video is peak mclaren F1. It doesnt handle good, its actually pretty sketch, but chuck it in a field of race cars with a long enough straight and you will pass every single one of them
Respect for always driving in 3rd person. In racing games I usually prefer cockpit view or the roof top one, if possible. My times are usually way worse if I drive in 3rd person xD
3rd person driving if all about looking at the center of your car then pointing it where you want to go and you can see what your car likes or doesn't like. 1st person views are weird and everything is in the moment and you can't really prepare for anything ahead of you. Knowing the track also helps a lot. I feel most people tend to stare at the back of the car instead of looking ahead which is why they end up driving slower.

Typically there were less engine restrictions and safety regulations back then. Conventional structure probably makes modification easier too. As in game I definitely feel like Forza team is big fan of 90s cars.

I think there is too much difference between poor handling and braking and the best acceleration and maximum speed. McLaren F1 in real life not so much bad in handling and braking if we take into account reactions of people who driving it or if we will see some racings on that road cars (I'm talking exactly about the road version)

@@ActrosTech No, it's not stock, it's heavily upgraded with turbos, roll cage and such. Stock, in the game, it takes about the entire Le Mans straight without chicanes for the F1 to reach 240 mph, if it even reaches it.
I have a few top 100 tunes in a and b class on multiple tracks but I absolutely suck at tuning s class lol trying to stay away from the leaderboard cars to build on and find something new but it isn’t working well lol

I install upgrades and tune them myself so yes.
You still need to mod, but Wings will break these because weight is a criteria for this to work. It's all about the engine placement to adjust the springs. So leave the wings out and you will have both a good top speed and good handling at the same time.
The racing etiquette in this game is the worst I have ever seen.... in most of your videos I am almost constantly shaking my head at the start of each race. It truly is shocking.
Edit: BTW, are you playing this on a keyboard or something? I'm Struggling to understand why you're either full throttle/brake or nothing at all.
