Very nice! Looks like whoever designed and built this antenna really loved their job. I've never seen a 70 cm antenna driven by a close by 2 meter driven element. Really interesting design not having any extra coax or connectors. Great looking set up you have there. 73-W1RMD
No matching, direct connection of the two halves of the dipole to coax, like and HF dipole, there is an harmonic relation between the 2m & 70cm elements, these are are excited and works.
Does the dipole connection has a Balun inside? or the size I think it does not. It's a little overlook detail that can skew the radiation pattern and NOT affect the SWR, if the outer part of the coaxial is connected directly to one of the elements without any balanced to unbalanced adaptation it can absorb/radiate RF and noise disturbing radiation pattern and raising your noise floor. Normally a few turns of the coax do the trick on VHF/UHF, but for that issue the connector is to close to the bottom for my taste. But its a great design I built one in the past like that for satellite works

Oh wow we have 100% same setup. I have also a hexbeam and exact the same 5/8el Yagi
Ótimo projeto melhoria parabéns irmão bazuka Foz do Iguaçu PR Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Can anybody explain how the matching unit for this antenna is build?
Matching unit is an open dipole, center core of the coax is connected to one arm and shield connected to the second arm.

Hi There Love your Video! bur cannot seem to locate this Yagi antenna my FT950 in the UK?

Well made Paul looks very good quality product M7CVK
Yes, it is. Pity I didn't buy a bigger one, lol
❤
Good video, im planning to do the same, the Tower Will be 40 ft height, how tall is this hexbeam?, saludos XE2GRC
Hexbeam is approx.1.5m tall
Paul, any of these products for the US? and in English prices? I'm in the market for a 5ele 144 myself
Hi Tom, please send an email to the seller and try to ask him for antenna in english. Here is this email: info@radio-shop.cz
