Pardon? What exactly do you mean. I haven’t had her scoped for ulcers because when I asked the vet about it , she was happy with her & not concerned about ulcers. We did the work up and found the issue. What makes you think she has ulcers?
@@Whizzywelsh_Eventingi train racehorses & have dealt with the ulcers a lot. I was asking because she doesn't carry a lot of flesh for her breed type. I understand she is quite fit though. Another sign can be the hotness & spooky behavior. Especially if it's random. I know my retired mare is prone to them when I ship her a lot & she will act more hot at a lesson if she has a flare up. I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm rooting for you here in America. Another sign is if they eat slowly or walk away from their hay frequently& return to it.
Another tricky issue is if they have had them before they are prone to return. The shipping can cause the bad acid to splash above the protective lining in their tummy & burn the delicate tissue, causing lesions. I try to always give a ulcer med before shipping & make sure they have food in their belly
@@Horsemom ohhh haha 🤣🤣, I read it as ‘she carries a lot of weight’ as in me lol! No I have thought the same as she is a proper lean gal. She’s always been the same since I bought her she’s just a really lightweight Welsh D. I had her scoped a few years ago when she was really lean but the vet said she’s the cleanest she’s seen. She gets excited when she first goes to somerford cause she knows it’s XC. But 💯 it’s all on my radar, she is very prone to tucking up whenever she’s been in the lorry xx
@@Horsemom She gets chaff before she travels & I give it to her to load & once she’s on the box she has access to it. As soon as she’s excited a tad stressed she just instantly tucks x
