Aerosmith, Kiss. Not in my books, nor in my top 30 ! I'd take the Who, the Doors, Pink Floyd, CCR, Dire Straits, Bob Seger, Pearl Jam, Soubd Garden, SuperTramp, Blue Oyster Cult, Tom Petty, over those bands any day of the week !

Pink Floyd and the Who should have been up there
And Chicago, although I couldn't say they were the best, they should be higher than AC/DC and KISS.

Deep Purple, The Doors. ZZ Top, Rush,The Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jethro Tull, Santana off the top of my head
Led Zeppelin will forever be My #1. Saw them in person in 70 & 72!!!
My friend quoted and I agree, “Led Zeppelin is the greatest band in the world”.
The object of Family Feud is to guess what the people who were surveyed gave as answers. Not to give personal opinions. What the contestants believe is unimportant.
I wish more people understood this. I’ve seen popular survey answers that were objectively untrue.

My heart goes out to all the people who never got to see Rush live. There was a time back in the 80's when only Rush could compete with the mighty Van Halen
I had the opportunity to see them in 2011, but nosebleed seats started at $138 a piece, not counting the absurd fees that ticketbastard charges. Easily $200/ea once all said and done. On one hand, I am kicking myself for not going. On the other hand, those prices are insulting.

I knew the answers were going to be based on history - and while I thought about Metallica, I figured that Heavy Metal might be seen as its own category. Further, I expected any answer to be pre-1980, so I disqualified them.
A normie who does a survey is not going to differentiate between genres of music he/she does not listen to.
I love Metallica, but I 100% agree with you here. It's rock n roll not heavy metal. The Who or pink Floyd would have been a better choice.

As a decades long Pink Floyd fan, not too sure I’d categorise them as “rock and roll”. Notwithstanding, there’s really is some great R&R bands listed in that lot.
It would fall under different sub genre, but in the end, I'd say they're a rock band
The doors, Donavan, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creed, Soundgarden, Tool etc.
Black Sabbath / Pink Floyd no question
Black Sabbath is definitely cool, but with only 8 slots I wouldn’t put them up there!
The Electric Light Orchestra
Mahavishnu Orchestra
YES
King Crimson
Deep Purple
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
The Who
I know some of these are "prog rock," but they are some of my best bands.
As far as I’m concerned, the Beatles are definitely #1 but might have added CCR.
Early Beatles were baroque pop and later Beatles were proto progressive music.
Yes CCR should have been in the top 3! They have many hit songs!
Metalica and not Pink Floyd NO WAY what a joke
@@Smudgie and Metallica is heavy metal, very different from the Beatles
Metallica can't keep a candle lit next to Pink Floyd. Your crazy. But then again. To each his own.
LETS DO AN INFORMAL POLL:
METALLICA OR PINK FLOYD Y'ALL ?
Here’s how statistics work. The top eight answers added up to 75 meaning 25 votes were not for any of the groups shown. In eighth place was Metallica with 5 votes. It is possible that there could have been one or even two groups to also have 5 and if this is the case the producer will let someone on staff choose which to showcase. Or there wasn’t a tie, either way I did an unscientific poll of my own and read the comments and counted the first 25 bands mentioned that were not in the eight mentioned and pretended that they were the missing votes. This is the rundown:
8 votes- The Who
4 votes- Pink Floyd
4 votes- The Doors
1 vote - Beach Boys, CCR, Rush, Dire Straits
Pearl Jam, Supertramp, Kinks,
Deep Purple, Jethro Tull
There were many others mentioned, plus frontmen, Bob Seger and Tom Petty, who are individuals to the general public but leaders in a band to there fans, I get it. Plus comments of derision for Aerosmith, sure, and KISS, definitely, but this is the list of answers that you get for this question.
There was *SO* much great music coming out at that time! Some of my picks, though I didn’t think they’d be up on the board are: The Kinks, The Who, The Doors,, and The Clash (Punk Rock counts).

Allman Brothers, Skynard, Pink Floyd, The Who, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Genesis.
