So happy you did this analysis. When Ben Affleck went on Kimmel to address this, he never apologized for his comments about Garner. Instead he said the negative reaction to his comments "hurt his feelings". That made my narc alarm bells ring. His feelings are hurt for REACTION to HIS terrible comments about his supportive ex-wife? Only a narcissist would come up with that (or exhibiting narcissist behavior).
Including she is the mother of his children. He and J Lo deserve escorted. He plays a victim with her now. Pathetic.
How many photos exist of him crying in the passenger's seat whilst his long suffering ex- wife drives him to rehab? Too many. He and his ugly back tattoo are ridiculous.

What an absolute creep, to say that about Jennifer Garner. She has stood by all his pathetic behaviour, what about self responsibility for his actions.
So, Ben Affleck would have us believe that the breakdown of his marriage drove him to drink. It couldn’t possibly be the other way around, could it?! That his drinking helped cause the marriage breakdown?? Oh, no, that would mean he’d have to hold himself accountable, something that HG Tudor has repeatedly said represents a loss of control to the narcissist. Jennifer Garner is well rid of him. For the sake of facade management if nothing else, Affleck ought to realize that throwing the mother of his children under the bus is not a good look.
My take is he always blamed his marriage breakdown on his drinking and htat his wife gave him more chances than he deserved. Perhaps we read different papers ?

@@angelaramsay1778 my comment was in relation to Ben Affleck’s recent interview with Howard Stern, in which Affleck said he felt trapped in his marriage and that’s why he started drinking and that if he and Garner hadn’t split up, he’d probably still be drinking. There was an internet backlash to these statements, so he’s now trying to walk it back.
I had no idea Affleck was so accomplished. I must say however, I have not yet met any narcissist who was grateful. They all seem ungrateful, insatiable as if there is never enough of any supply they desire. So, I believe he has a well constructed facade.
I’ve always found Affleck’s contemptuous face & dead eyes disturbing. Never found him a good, interesting or engaging actor.

She seems to say one thing to get people to believe she's such a caring person but her treatment of those supposedly important to her are cruel. She especially love bombs and then devalues. Note, HG did not confirm whether Affleck is a narcissist in this video. He carefully emphasizes that at this stage he is posing the question and beginning to investigate.
Tbf I personally don't thing HG has proved anything about whether or not Affleck is a narcissist yet. He might have some gotcha moments in the next video but this whole video is basically him saying: this could be narcissistic behavior if you squint".
I don't like Affleck myself but I need more proof of narcissistic behavior other than someone being an actor and having a shitty childhood - and to be fair to HG, this video is not about conclusions but it is an introduction and him lining up the ducks. If Ben indeed is a narcissist then I think we need more proof than him being accomplished in his field and doing lots of charity. Plenty of the famous people HG has called empaths have done the same type of things that Affleck has done if we strictly stick to the information in this video. It's important to think critically - especially when it comes to consuming HG's content. You are, after all listening to a selfadmitted narcissist so approaching with caution would be a good idea in my opinion.
Also, I think 'trapped by Jennifer Garner' = life is not as thrilling or exciting anymore, as I have routines and chores and kids to take care of. I'm bored and so I'll return to the exciting life of JLo.

He might be a narcissist, but he’s definitely an addict - even if he is sober at the moment. Addicts definitely have very narcissistic behavior. He also has (had?) issues with gambling. He’s really high functioning though (show business tolerates a lot of bad behavior, I think he did really well at the casino, and if he didn’t, NBD, he’s rich), so that makes it hard to overcome addictions. Anyway, being in love is his “drug” now, and JLo loooooooves love too (she’s never single for long). What does AA call it when you don’t drink but you’re still an idiot? A dry drunk, I think.
Very well said! Having cross addictions and narcissistic, entitled behavior are the hallmarks of the severely addicted, wounded personality! I'm sure as the spouse of an addict, his ex-wife endured much suffering and struggles to try to be supportive for her husband even so far as feeling solely responsible for getting him the proper help and treatment he needed if she could humanly do so. Having small children and being invested in keeping a family unit together, wives/spouses of addicts will endure multiple addictions that crop up mercilessly for addicts and their loved ones like alcohol, sex , porn , gaming, gambling, etc...The three Cs ... you didn't Cause it, you can't Control it, and you certainly can't Cure it come into play here for spouses/partners of addicts who hit bottom but denial and narcissism keep their loved one in their disease. Ben will continue to keep looking for his "Golden Period" partner as HG brilliantly says, but everyone will disappoint his deluded sense of entitled grandeur. As an addict, sex and "love" are also his high. Like any drug, his brain requires a bigger and bigger hit to work and stay engaged, and he feels bored or "trapped" once again and moves on to the next substance, starlet, or casino. The people that will really suffer will be his children. He will say thoughtless things, hurt their tiny hearts, confuse them with multiple live-in lovers, possibly new procreated siblings he lives with instead of them, and with each new leading lady he may very well repeatedly say or infer to his innocent children that this is the woman who now makes him happier and more complete than mommy or they ever could and doesn't daddy deserve to be happy like his kids do??? Yes , Jennifer Garner will again tirelessly seek out the best experts and therapists to repair the thoughtless damage of the ex she thought she divorced but this time for her own children.
The last two narcs I served as IPPS for were addicts. The addiction only takes away their control to hide their disorder. They are always predators. Them getting clean (which usually only involves trading one addiction for another) only makes them apex. It's exasperating how many people so readily blame the addiction when the reality isn't "They're fucked up because they are on drugs or alcohol!", but rather "They are on drugs or alcohol because they are fucked up!".

Narcs are miserable people too, I’ve yet to date one that doesn’t have an addiction (I have dated many). Diff is, I am self aware and Ben A isn’t. He actually thinks circumstances made him drink when it was HIM. He loathes himself and deflects blame onto others.

I don’t like Matt either. But, at least he admitted that he’s miscast as Jason Bourne. And that he was not masculine enough for the character. I read the books, I was horrified when Matt was cast as Jason Bourne. A character that I read and enjoyed since I was around 16 years old. I hate that Ben cast himself as the lead in Argo. He was an Alcholic before he married Jennifer Garner. Feeling trapped did not cause him to drink. He has a known alcoholic problem. He was wrong to even suggest that he felt trapped, and began to drink. He needs to take responsibility for his ever present drinking problem. Whether they took his words out of context. Why would you even suggest that your children & wife made you feel trapped. I am not a big fan of adults publicly trashing each other, especially when children are involved, they are the ones that get hurt.
Jennifer Garner deserves better. Let him live his glamorous life with Jennifer Lopez, he is her problem now.

I'm afraid JLo is may not be much better than our boy Ben. Two narcissists kinda like a Liz and Richard Burton thing! I'm afraid she is rather selfish with her own twins putting her insatiable ..excuse me... passionate love life first... before the needs of her own twins. It seems like she just kinda inserts them after ARod or whoever is the love of the life is this week. I mean I'm sure she feels this is my long term, committed partner and don't we look happy and blended on ET with the other guy's kids?! All very innocent from her perspective. And you see these JLo kids all over the map. Yeah, the pictures look fun once they're there and travel is a worthwhile learning tool. And a camera is there saying some dumb word to get the kids to smile at The World Series or the poor darlings were just tickled for the sake of the photo op. And flying private has perks as well as the hypocritical carbon footprint, but kids as a rule prefer stability and jet setting by any standard even with ARod gets tiring and wearisome for kids. Look what happened to Brangelina's marriage despite the family's worldwide jet setting. And there's were reports of all the Jolie Pitt kids losing their ever loving minds in airports running around unfiltered with cans of Coca Cola. That didn't turn out so well in custody hearings for Brad and Ang. And these are just mom and mom's boyfriend at some point for Jlo's kids. And weirdly, when it comes to bathroom and juice boxes and whining and runny noses, I'm betting nannies and entourages that these people always travel with do the real nitty gritty of mothering and parenting so Alist power couples can take their Xanax and snooze on the flight before their makeup and close ups. It's terrifying how a narcissist's kids become accessories. And then you add a hollywood narcissists' children. And BenLo's Kids together for PR and profit? It's sickening. Oh I'm sure Mr. Tudor can foresee all kinds of wrath and horror when those two icons go at it and finally break up and exact revenge on each other in the press. But the poor kids. Hard to prove that kind of abuse in a court of law.
And narcs are always irresistibly charming at first for however long they need be to their romantic prospect and their offspring! Once they ensnare their prey is when they get lazy and inconsistent with their treatment of those in their web!

I’d heard though about Good Will Hunting-that the film was actually about a math genius ‘codebreaker’ but then there was a 3rd individual who helped to rewrite it and focus on the emotional aspect of Will. This person ultimately signed over the credit rights. I don’t know how true this is, but this is what I heard.

You know, I was really enjoying Gone Girl, and then 3/4s of the way in, it turned into both a different movie, and with cheap irritating plot writing and twist.

I don't quite see upon what you said how Affleck is a narc. So far it is only great accomplishments that he has done. I would lean toward JLO being a narc. She seems all about the self and besides her appearance seems to have nothing else to sell. She looks full of herself and always parade her narcissistic supply.

Several years ago, there was a Ben Affleck/Sam Harris/Bill Maher debate, which generated a lot of media coverage. Affleck was intellectually/emotionally out of his depth, but made a headline-hitting, cringingly, woke (before woke became a mainstream term) contribution. Jennifer took a much higher road that took a lot of inner strength to see the bigger picture of Ben getting sober and being in their children's lives. Ben's lack of gratitude that Jennifer even allows him within 100 miles of those kids after his destructive behaviors is just that... more destructive behaviors. Pride leads to a down fall and until he humbles himself for the second chances Ben has been given, he will fall again.

I wonder if she may be the type of divorced parent who waits until the children are 18 to consider remarriage because she doesn’t want her children to have to put up with a revolving door of boyfriends/husbands. It’s so hard when you can’t feel comfortable at home because of your parents latest crazy lover who hates the children because they want all the attention. I was lucky to have one home, my main home, where that wasn’t the case. I feel sick thinking about all the kids today who have that environment at both homes for their entire childhoods since birth; they must be so emotionally & psychologically tired of life by the time they turn 18. We should all be ashamed of the broken families & misery we’ve given our country’s children because we can’t keep our pants on or are too stubborn to compromise & work on a few things. Here’s hoping some of these kids grow up & demand we gain healthy marriage tools & change the world for their kids.
