I am very surprised. This is very sportive. I was have thought it would be punching or head butting our way to a guard pass. I’ll take the old school Carlson Gracie Vale Tudo style pass for self defense. Maybe I will make a video.🤔 I think the video should be titled Technical Jiu Jitsu instead of self defense. The pass is not bad, btw. I did not say anything about the technique.🙏
It’s important to note that if the person who’s got his opponent in guard raises his hips, it’s going to be more difficult to break that guard. Keep their hips on the ground and control that situation
I don't know anything about wrestling but if I was in a serious (life or death perhaps) fight and found myself in that position, I'd have no problem breaking that guard by coming down with elbows and fists in my opponent's nuts.
@Nitro 1 bro where in the constitution does it say 18 years old should have guns what about at 12 should you be able to have a gun Tim’s saying your brain doesn’t developed until what 24 26 and considering basically his whole life he been using or been around people with guns i think he knows more than you or me on the free part yea americas free more free than Russia or china hes adrresed the fact that theres cyber and other things that dont make america 100% free go watch some more of his podcast
@@benjiboi6669 I know I'm late to the party but I couldn't believe what I just read! Lol Tldr: There's a saying: "Old enough to serve but not old enough to have a gun". Yeah science suggests that the human brain doesn't fully develop until sometime mid 20s but what the previous commenter was saying is people advocate for us to join the military at 18. (Keep in mind this is before the brain is so called fully developed) this means using guns at 18. You can't join the military and not use firearms. And they don't wait till you're under the federally mandated age! 🤣 That's what the above comment was referring to. Legally you have to be 21 to own a gun. (I think certain rifles are a different age) But while some ppl are saying you don't really know what you're doing till 24/25, they're still saying it's ok at 18 because they encourage you to serve.
@@jojarett5351 i feel like the thing with if they serve thoue is that they train with that so if maybe your under 21 you could have to go to a 2 or 3 day free coarse to be responsible
Thats a good explanation of breaking guard. Thanks.
Great stuff, I miss rolling so much. Need to get back in there soon. Thanks for the breakdown!
That is a very old school approach.

Is this in the Unarmed Combatives Online Course now guys?
Is this a self defense for the cage? For the sports with rules? Or for self defense in real life without any rules?
to me passing someone who has good guard is one of the hardest things in bjj
Is this for basic self defense ?

This killed me
That's a no no
This .. uh .. could have been a totally different kind of video.
Y’all better get use to hand to hand skills. Because old Tim Kennedy doesn’t want you to own guns.
Why do you say that?
YUP! 'Cause he on;y just runs a TRAINING ACADEMY teaching People how to effectively USE them... ;)
