@Kyle Kinzie Wickr is used very often with political campaigns. I've really only used it when working on campaigns not sure what encryption is used. But they have a paid and free version.
If people want secure comms with end to end encryption they can trust, why don't they just set up their own Mumble server? I can trust a server that I host and run myself.
