I don't believe AI tool like ChatGPT will replace humans. However, it can make our jobs exponentially easier. And this video is proof. Rather than Google one thing countless times, the AI can just give you a direct answer.
This thing wrote me 2 Apple Watch Apps. Okay, you must put him in the right direction and give him some hints and think sometimes with your own head.. But it works. And I have no clue in Swift. C#, yes.. But then it works great! And its great to seen your own ideas in a foreign language and after time you get a clue what is happening.. That is the great thing about coding with chatgpt, you can really learn something.
It created a wordpress plugin and showed me the steps to secure it. The code is working as expected. I actually have very minimal understanding of programming.

Maybe! But for now it's nowhere close to that vision, rather it's a tool to make developing jobs much easier and much more efficient. And we'll always need people to architect applications, so I think there is some hope left even for 10 years from now hah! At least one can hope 😀
No worries, it increases the need for good Developers. This only replaces bad 'developers'. As a Software Engineer, I can tell you that this will never replace secure, professional high-end implementations. AI-generated code is banned in most expert forums because of its security flaws and lousy performance.

@@wpmaker I think one of the first things I asked it was to make me a plug-in, I have since used it to write me so much stuff, code, headlines, full content from little snippets, next I’m going to tackle some Gutenberg stuff I think. I’m not the greatest but I started my own hosting company and started to like developing websites. Hopefully this will give me enough skill to get customers in :)

Its the future. Im just a beginner but I submitted code to ChatGpt then asked it how the code could be written better. It returned the same code but better and then even explained how and why it was better. So I learned from it. When i think what this AI will be like after 10-20 years i get scared actually... A lot of jobs are in massive danger. And we only have access to a very limited version of this bot. Somewhere someone must have a very advanced version...

This can be done using the WordPress REST API and/or something called "webhooks" where something on a website triggers actions on another. It can probably also be done using a service such as Zapier. It's quite a niche request so I can't make a full video about it, but you might be able to find something useful on Google using these search terms that I mentioned :) Alternatively if you have a budget for this you could post a job on Upwork for example, and you should be able to find someone to design a custom solution. Yo! I get errors sometimes too. You can do a couple of things to fix it, you can try clicking "Try Again." Or you can try to re-formulate the question. It also helps sometimes to refresh the page or at least click "New Thread." ChatGPT is viral and is being used by everyone right now, they're spammed with huge traffic. So its lags out sometimes. Also it's useful to ask it super specific questions (or re-write questions in a different way), because I also found that it errors out if the answer it's giving you gets too long. That's it basically, be try to be more specific and have it write a complex answer in smaller chunks (how to write this function and how to write that function) instead of one big chunk (how to make this final result). I'm still experimenting with it and will make more videos that will help us phrase coding questions to it better! :) PS: awesome to know that you're trying it for Drupal!
I am a Java developer for 15 years . I have 4 wordpress websites . I always wanted to learn to write a wordpress plugin 😊😊. I used chatgpt to add custom java code in my project
I try to make chatgpt build me a plugin that would install and activate some themes and plugins, but apparently the code results in an error. I dont know how to debug it lol, cause I'm not really a developer.
You can try asking it how to debug it haha. Small questions at a time can often give you great clues :) But it's not at the stage where it will write a complex plugin like this in one go.
WordPress developers around the world are begging for this to be out of beta fast, becoming a very expensive premium subscription service 😂 To be honest, this is insane. I just tested it to write me some PowerShell code to configure the Datadog agent remotely. It did exactly what I wanted in 5 minutes, and I worked hours to create that code manually.

Hey James, you can try typing in "Continue" when this happens and it should pick up where it left off. The AI has a limit to how many words it can use to answer your question in one go.

Or someone, might place the ChatGPT code in the wrong area and never get back the original "working" code. This will totally ruin a website. That is, If someone is following you and not sure where the code Snippets from ChatGPT should go on their site... Just my 2cents worth for your next vids. 👍

cool but WordPress and WooCommerce are getting updates often and change in their code. Since chat gpt has no knowledge of things after 2021 some things could not work?
Important code functions don't get updated super often. But indeed you can get non-working code for many reasons, not just this. That's why (thankfully) humans are still needed 😄

Chat gpt code has too much error. One again it can not code error free. But is is a good chat engine and small code search.
The main reason is deprecated libraries after 2021, most frameworks get updates regularly and CHATGPT knowledge is up to 2021.
You’re right, but humans don’t write error free code either (same goes for Google / Stack Overflow). It’s a scary good tool for what it is :)

cool but WordPress and WooCommerce are getting updates often and change in their code. Since chat gpt has no knowledge of things after 2021 some things could not work?
Important code functions don't get updated super often. But indeed you can get non-working code for many reasons, not just this. That's why (thankfully) humans are still needed 😄
