I watched the great entertainers like Dickie Henderson through out my childhood and enjoyed every minute, I don’t ever watch TV anymore there really doesn’t seem like any true entertainers left.

He was fantastic, loved watching him on tv as a kid, such talent. I was the all star tribute to him shown on tv in 1986 was available to view, haven’t seen that for years. It showed the high regard in which Dickie was held by his peers.

just one of Dickie's many class pieces; and not an "f" or "blind" in sight. Wonderful. Rip D.H.

What is never mentioned is that before Sinatra sang this song Fred Aster sang and danced this in a film a long time ago and is by far the best version of it.

Brilliant! where are they now in these politically correct, humourless times?.

His classic act, note Dickie's mid-Atlantic accent..

I must say, I'm quite a sucker for the Transatlantic accent. It's pretty cool and suave.

It baffled me as a child that British entertainer Dickie Henderson spoke with an American accent. But having looked him up I see he spent time in the US as a boy and was educated at a Hollywood school for a time, due to his successful performer father - so I guess the transatlantic twang can be forgiven!
