  • Lowell Liebermann's intoxicating Nocturne No. 8. World-premiere performance by the dedicatée, Marc-André Hamelin in New York, 2003. Hamelin and the Liebermann champion Stephen Hough really should record some of Liebermann's ear-catching Nocturnes.

One of the rawest pieces I've heard in a while. Resonates to the point of being palpable.

Wonderful! My current favorite of Lowell Liebermann's Nocturnes. I'm grateful for a decent recording of it I can enjoy. I may even learn it myself.

Intoxicating is right. Gorgeous sounds, so restrained and yet so amazingly expressive.

Now you have gotten me curious about a piece of a composer that although i know his overall direction and art movement that he belongs (neoclassicalism), i still haven't heard and I'll go hear it and rate if your comment has any validity in its comparison.

Seems very similar to Prokofiev Piano sonata 2 movement 3 Andante

I dont think so. In that case nobody would has the right to compose a theme with repeted notes in counterpoint.

Uninspired copy-cat contrived garbage. Who needs this when there are so many great pieces by the master composers?

Lmao your "master composers" also copied from each other all the time.

You shouldn't use such words as garbage when what you say is garbage-stupidity. Poor idiot you are, criticizing a student of David Dimond, Ph.D. from Julliard, and world-renowned and sought after composer by "those who know." Tell me then, what qualifies your opinion? GARBAGE, or is it homophobia? But you have the right to your opinion as do the rest of us.
