Well… if that 4 cylinder hybrid is connected to a generator, and the transmission is completely electric with a 500hp 1000lb torque electric motor, it could actually work and make sense, like a diesel electric train. Smaller battery only needed for acceleration while maintaining speed is completely capable with just the electric generated from the 4cyl. I’d actually like to see one like that. Electric power without cost or range issues of the battery.
