    Cool concept for a tank, with the algae intentionally being the food source! I hope the killifish do the job for ya with the hair alage. Looking forward to seeing how it all works out :)

    I do not offer my hillstream loaches or blue gobies anything either - just long photoperiods and overdoses of Easy Green for the crazy algae growth. I adore my hillie tank - this tank of yours is my favorite - so far so good with none of the brown stuff though I do have a few tufts of the black/grey stuff. Hey - I think it is fine to bring in a "hired gun" sometimes to do the specialty jobs - I have taken note of the flag fish for in my tank(s) - plus it is a native fish! Thanks for the info - I had no idea these guys ate the stringy stuff - I may have to invest in a few now - great video :)

      Thank you, yes I really enjoy this tank and these little guys are definitely helping...just need to keep an eye on their aggression as they grow

    Hey I'm suffering with the same issue, so I was wondering how these guys have done with cleaning the algae. Any chance of an update please?

    • @dwsdarius
      @dwsdarius  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They slowed down with their initial consumption, I believe mainly because they prefer the prepared foods I offer and only graze casually...but I'll get a video update soon

      Thanks, yes its nice as long its under control...my favorite is the green hair algae, this is the only tank I've been able to grow it in

      careful what you wish for. I got a sunlight "powered" 240 and even with thick plant growth,that hair algae finds Java moss and for some reason Bacopa as a favorite plants to infest.
      Yes,I feed heavy!..I wont starve my fish because of some algae.
