We have to know God's word in order to know which promise pertains to our situation at any given time. There are promises about love, about peace, and joy, and forgiveness. Read Deuteronomy 26 it is explicit instructions on tithing. Abraham tithed to Melchizedek before the Law. Malachi 3:6-15 reaffirms tithing and it's blessing. Hebrews 7:8-10 confirms that tithing continued under the New Covenant. Tithing is not a type and shadow it is God's legal way of bringing His blessing into your life.
