      @@cristirock3 the dealership was changing the battery with the stop start AGM Mercedes’ authentic batteries for stop start. I think the main issue was that because it had the MBUX system and was always connected to the internet and the app, if you didn’t drive the car for a few days it really drained the battery quite heavily and over time that does damage the battery. I noticed as well on a few occasions after a week if I had not driven I got a low battery warning on the app and on the screen. I loved the Mercedes’ but after two years of annoying faults they bought the car back. The most annoying of all, a car that put itself into neutral whilst driving for no reason! However the system was so easy to use with the touchpad whilst driving. I just didn’t expect it to need a new battery each year of ownership.
      I just bought the 330i and it’s a nice car, I don’t find it as exciting inside but it feels well built.
      The bmw whilst not as exciting inside, really is so frugal on petrol I cannot believe it. It’s using 5-6L per 100km and it’s got more power then the Mercedes’ and an even bigger vehicle. It seems to be a bit smarter with the stop start, some how it knows at certain times that it’s not a good idea to engage.
      The active grill also means the bmw is at optimum temperature within a minute which is really good if you want to put the heating on in winter, the engine is ready to go in no time.

    Don’t forget about turning off traction control when your in the snow! Especially if you need to go up a hill covered in snow. Also turn it off when in muddy conditions.

      @@DrivenHard and in the newer vehicles it can limit your rpm in a situation when you need it the most. I disable mine on winter days so if I get into a situation I don’t have to take my eyes off the road to disable it.
      Also if you have one spinning rear wheel you can temporarily trick your wheels to both spin by slightly putting on your emergency break if you have a pull style emergency break. I call it a
      Break locker.

    • @specialopsdave
      @specialopsdave 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is satire, right? TC is useful on all surfaces as long as you have some momentum. You only turn it off when you can't accelerate from a stop, because that's where TC will actually refuse to give you power. If you have at least 10mph, it will work flawlessly (and if it doesn't, then the hill is so slippery that it may be impossible to even stop if you were to spin wheels without TC)
      And if you're the exception for some reason, you just got bad luck, and got one of those late-90s to late-2000s cars that have overzealous traction control. Most cars are better.

    • @frankdelucey2137
      @frankdelucey2137 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@specialopsdave It’s not Satire.
      All the new and old vehicles that don’t have a winter driving mode I automatically turn off traction control.
      When you need TC off is when you really need to not have to worry about why your not moving forward.
      The best is when your going up a snowy road only to find rear wheel drive vehicles littering the road that you now have to drive around while avoiding traffic coming down the hill just to get to work. I deal with this every year especially the last hill before getting to the highway while going to work.
      What really gets me is the fact that people don’t have good vehicles for winter driving when they live in a winter area.
      My favorite truck is my 2000 Toyota 4Runner SR5 that doesn’t have traction control. All my other vehicles that I have had over the years up till now I have had to disable traction control because when one wheel slips the computer decides to throttle the engine power which in turn slows the vehicle down when you need it to speed up to get up the hill in snow.
      And as a tip... if you have a 4x4 with no rear locker you can pull your e-break just a little so you can stop one wheel peel from happening.
      Usually just one or 2 clicks on your e-break but don’t forget to take it off after you get to the top.

      @@frankdelucey2137 Actually, I wasn't even thinking of RWD cars, my bad 😅 I forget they're totally different from the FWD and AWD cars I drive in winter, the only RWD vehicle I own is a '97 Dodge pickup that has magically avoided frame rust entirely so far, so I don't want to tempt fate and drive it in winter. Besides, it doesn't even have TC anyways, so I would never notice
