Yes Robbie do lots of nursery tours in the winter. I'm in Utah and it's still cold and snowy but this way I get my plant fix and dream about spring. This is why it's so fun to watch others in different zones
I m in Nova Scotia Canada, i am so jealous you get to visit garden centres in December! We have some wonderful Nurseries here but all completley closed by November! Makes for a long winter. My house plants and spring planning me through the long winter!
Merry Christmas Nova Scotia, Manitoba here! 🇨🇦🎄❄️🥶
I agree with what you said about the tags only having a barcode to scan instead of printing the plant info on the tag. I’m not scanning it either, give me my waterproof, detailed plant tag that I save forever 😊
Great video, thanks for sharing.
So many great ideas that aren't too too pricey!
I do love the double topiary!
"My plan is to not buy anything today." Bwahahahaha That was a good one Robbie! 😆😆😆 Liz from California
Since I live where nothing is blooming, I love seeing blooming flowers especially at this time of year.
❤lemon cypress my favorite too..😂grinch vibes..the color❤
Hi,Robbie..off topic but your skin looks amazing! Ok..on plants I loved seeing the primrose plants! I haven't planted them in years but seeing them brought lots of good memories. And I love lavender 💜.. aren't we so lucky in Cali to have gorgeous weather and plants blooming pretty much all year?! Thanks for the tour!
Great selection. Fun tour. Gets me thinking of ideas for next year.
The Fern Pines grow into gorgeous trees! I have two huge ones in my front and back yards that are almost 20 years old. I also see them quite often around my city (in the greater Los Angeles area). They've become one of my favorites!
Hi Robbie! It was fun shopping with you at Home Depot and seeing all of the plants that are still available to you in December. I live in Nampa, ID and there isn't much available. Thank you so much for sharing!
Pretty jealous. In Central Virginia Home Depot had about 12 Christmas trees and their Christmas cans 50% off. That was all that they had in their garden center this past weekend.
Always have to buy something when everything is so green. Snow on ground and 22 here in PA.
Yes you are very lucky to have such a great selection this time of year! Happy for you! Some really pretty plants!
Wonderful video, Robbie! Love when you share all of this information with us. To go to a garden center and say I'm not going to buy anything....lol that never happens with us gardners, but good try😂
I agree Tinam9844. . . I chuckled at that comment. 🤣 Liz
Oh how fun. I went to Lowe's on Christmas Eve and all their evergreens were 90% off 😮. Of corse I had to pick some up. 4 swirl evergreens reg 89.00 I got them for $8.00 ea. I bought 2 for me and then one for my brothers. I loved this stumbled on find ❤
Love your shopping trips!
Loved the tour.❤❤
I really enjoyed this tour. I have hit both Lowe’s and Home Depot recently hoping for some evergreen interest - there was nothing! Only cut Xmas trees. I’m in Oklahoma and the weather is still mild bought to be planting bushes so I was hoping for something. But no luck. So looking forward to early spring when plants will be out for sale again. Thanks so much for brightening my day with this tour.
Ok, this makes me ready for spring
❤happy new year..love the primrose and the african fern plant❤
Beautiful selection of plants.
That little red Camilla is so cute. I have it in pink. Pink a Boo. It’s been blooming for weeks and flowers still look perfect.
Here in the Chicago area and super jealous you’re garden center shopping in mid December lol
This is giving my gardening soul life right now, Robbie!! Everything!! I’m in MInnesota zone 4b and our Home Depots are barren right now!! 😂
The Lavender & the Christmas trees are beautiful..the red ones...coral bells i think you mentioned..theyre so pretty.....everything is beautiful...thanks for sharing this with us and taking us along in this Home Depot tour....have a wonderful day ❤❤❤
Good luck Robbie going in at Home Depot and coming out empty-handed lol
Aha! I knew you couldn't resist buying at least one plant. I saw so many plants that I would love to purchase - budget permitting. All of the blooming plants are lovely - at this tine of year we have only camellias blooming. Thank you for taking us along!
Lavenders are one of my favs..Thank you Robbie for taking us along on this tour..
The African Fern Pine. Maybe a Podocarpus? And will the Primroses survive your summmer?
Thanks Robbie for the garden center tour and for giving us some of the prices helps
Love the lemon cypress! Thanks for taking us!
The lavender looks great
Excited to learn about the African fern pine
Such a wonderful selection for this time of year
Enjoyed. Very descriptive. Ty
Hi Robbie, what’s the plan for some of the large trees you’ve purchased? Keep in pots and prune for size control? Root prune? Get rid of them when they outgrow your space? I also live on a small lot but hesitate to buy anything that has a very large mature size.
The baby tears are precious.
Good morning Robbie. I’m shocked and jelly of all of the blooming flowers available. I’m in Greensboro, NC, zone 8a, and the only thing we have are pansies and evergreens.
💜
Thanks Robbie, see you next time. ❄️⛄️🎄💚🙃
89$ for that juniper that needs trimming is a deal!
I love the myrtle topiary but hubs says he’s not bringing in any more pots for the winter! We r zone 8 too! Nice trip/ tour today!
My creeping fig has gone dormant now after our below freezing days& nights- ugly brown but come spring it’ll
green right up after brushing the dead stuff off!
Crazy to see a magnolia with a bud on it this time of year! Are you and Janey still going to make concrete or stone balls for the garden?
I’m starting to think I need one of those Eugenia topiaries- can you do a little tutorial on how and when to trim them ?
i lived in tampa zone 9 and had to move to tennessee . when i went to home depot garden center in december it was empty and i asked them if they were closing the store, lol. she looked at me and said its winter.
my dream plant is fox tail ferns! i do have 1 in a green house and i love it!!!
stacey from philly
ps hi brent
I love that pine by the cyclamen. So feathery! I don't typically shop big box stores.....but if I do it's Lowes. Home Depot is Maga.
Good morning Robbie and Brent 😊 It would be impossible for me to go to a garden center and not buy something 😁 That is so irritating that they don't put the specs on the tags.. Thank you for taking us along on your Home Depot trip. Ya'll take care. 😊
I use to have some creeping fig growing in my terrarium, I really like it. I’m thinking about setting up a terrarium again I have a 100 gallon fish tank that I want to turn into a terrarium it’s just so big that I have to find a permanent spot for it. ❄️⛄️🎄💚🙃
We don’t have the lemon cypress live Christmas trees here in Florida this year- kinda jealous.
I love ferns
OMG I need to stop at this Home Depot! We always stop at Raley's in Red Bluff for groceries on our way up to visit our family in Redding and Shingletown. I love the Yuletide Camelia. Do you know if it can handle the heat in zone 9b and can it survive in grown planting? I did see them at my Home Depot in So, Cal, but the selection of plants are not as plentiful at my store.
i think i actually was at the store that day while you were filming.. im between red bluff an corning..do u shop at the rock garden nursery in Proberta?
Just me but I would have picked up the large flat of baby tears even if I didn’t need it right away. My luck is that when I did need it they wouldn’t have it in the large flats anymore. ❄️⛄️🎄💚🙃
Good morning 😊
Full sun cause Japanese boxwoods to turn a reddish color. Normally, dabbled sun is better.
Everything in my garden centers is sleeping right now 🥱💤❄️⛄️🎄💚🙃
😊
Morning
❤
Why don’t you like oleander.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
When I went inside everything was half price
Im with you who wants to do homework when plant shopping? Im to lazy to pull out my phone and research the specs.
Robbie, I’m envious of your candy tuft being in bloom! I live in eastern Arkansas, 8a, where aside from some camellias and pansies/violas, nothing is blooming. Thankfully, no snow so far. The yard is covered in leaves and the shrubs need pruning, plus the stand of bamboo in the backyard is no longer green. I have a ginkgo tree and it’s lovely all year until the leaves change color and fall off the next day. Your fall color will not last, sweetie. Buy it for the leaf shape! Love ya!
You passed by the Oleander and had nothing good to say about them. Can you say what you don't like about them?
They are poisonous
They get awful caterpillars.
No surprise plants here, but I live in Florida zone 9.
I love them! I have about 400 enclosing my property.
They're even toxic when you're cutting them back. Awful plants! I had a house with some huge ones in the yard and had to cover my arms completely because the sap (or whatever it is called) can be toxic to a human. Of course kids & animals can't eat any of it. They're so easy to grow in Cali so that may be why they're abundant here. We used to call them freeway plants. I agree with Robbie.. there's not a lot to like about them! I think the previous owners planted them as privacy bushes.
