If you really want to use Masamune in Wating, you can pair Sephiroth with Bold Leela and Dark Fina because the group buffs they provide include Reaction Block and Light Resist, so if anyone is near Sephiroth and already has those buffs from his teammates, he won't try to recast Masamune in Waiting on them. Personally I prefer to just turn it off though because his shield buff is so important and these maps are pretty close together.

I skipped Sephiroth's VC and went for Anima + Omega VC and paired him with Astrius (equipped him with Dark Odin + Xmas Raviesse VC). This pair can dish out serious punches (cant wait for Astrius's MA2 + 140 too).

Class vcs tend to have about ~15-20% higher stats than element vcs. So in some cases, it certainly can be better. But we don't have quite enough of them for them to really start hitting that critical mass where, as you say, they override the element stacking bonus.
@@lentrosssyventi305 In a year or so, if they keep up with job vcs at the current pace, we'll probably start seeing it actually make sense on a grand scale. As Auron showed, there are a few cases where it already does make sense - although that's mostly to splash a single unit with a strong 2 man core.

I've actually had a REALLY good Class Match week with SR Leelah, Dark Fina, Witch LuCia. I've lost a single match. It was against an Englebert, Yuna, Sakura..... But here is the thing ~ somehow they spawned on the map clumped up on one side. I've never seen that happen before. How do they get it to do that? Anyway, because of the spawn, they were on the opposite corner of the map as my Leelah tank and all 3 of his units made quick work of my Fina and LuCia before my Leelah could get in range to draw the fire away. The weird enemy spawn made it feel pretty bad.
@@AuronnjJayy Dark Odin is best for evade slash units, which Sephiroth is not. Regular Odin has more offensive nodes which synergize well with Sephiroth.
I think people are going to discover that LynxUR is real good as a teammate for Sephiroth in dark v dark matchups. His best builds lack protect removal, and if he wants to have protect removal he needs to be running soldier sub and still have the AP to use it by the time he gets in close.
Whisper has protect remove @120 and she's not a bad investment for 140(maybe you have a million spheres for her as well ) I was using her, testing her out with slash and magic comps. Pretty not bad

These job based VCs are annoying. We can't even get a "sort by main element", but the Sephiroth VC, for example, doesn't list Liberator of the Crystal, which is Astrius's job, but does list Willweaver, which is supposed to mean Astrius? It is not a job in the EN (I assume this is a translation or failure to update?). It'd be nice if Gumi got their shit together, its confusing enough even with WotV-Calc!
I think we are all giving sephiroth wayyyyy too much credit. Sure he's good but I mean everyone keeps ranking him as the best unit for awhile and I don't agree. With tanks and supports coming up dps are always gonna be just dps. Removing courage/reraise is good but he's not always using his lb and it won't always kill . But take what I say with a grain of salt.
This is not something new. It is well known that support/utility units in gatcha games age way better than dps. healers, buffers and tanks will not easily be power crept in comparison of a dps.
He's also easy to hard counter with WoL, without too much investment. You could honestly set up a team of WoL and thancred and hunt dark teams without much worry at all. In the same respect sephiroth can also 100% light resist pretty easily with low investment also.
