8 Second Dance

Meet Bart Tyler, a cocky up-and-comer in the dangerous sport of professional bull riding. Live the passion and drama, as a documentary film crew records Bart's struggle to escape his father's looming shadow, the infamous Bill "The Buzzerbeater" Tyler, and become the champion he was meant to be.
8 Second Dance is the latest 3D production created by the Digital Animation Center at the University of Colorado Denver.
This short film was created by the 12 students of the DAC's Senior Class of 2011. 8 Second Dance is based on an original script by William Finley and is a result of an intensive lab focused on the experience of working within a creative, collaborative environment.
The Digital Animation Center engages their senior students in a 3-semester capstone course in which the students must form a working animation studio with the intention of immersing them in a collaborative work environement, thus obtaining real life experience in producing a film. The 18th-month production mimics as closely as possible the production environment of the major animation studios throughout the world. Students manage the production, holding leadership positions under the mentorship of DAC faculty. The end result for the class of 2011 is 8 Second Dance.
