@j.p. yeah. With how much he gets hit in fights, I feel like Gaethje would put him away, and I straight up don't see him having an answer for Dariush or Islam's ground games. Never mind that Dustin is the only guy besides Volk that seems to have Max's number.

to be real, he won that sequel. judges didn't score that way.. but i've watched that fight twice already. i just can't understand how they gave that to volk. that should've been a 2-1 matchup by now against volk, with volk leading. but if max won and defended that belt in a third fight if he had been given the W in the 2nd, we dk if he'd win or lose that 3rd.
but credit to volk and his team. they orchestrated a great game plan against max in that trilogy match.

I am actually impressed with Allen a lot. I think this loss will give him a lot of lessons. It was his first 5 round fight against an elite level fighter.
Allen and Topuria are the future of this division.
Yair is 30, Yusuff is 29, Allen is 29, Evloev is 29, Mitchell is 28, and Topuria is 26 so the future of the Featherweight division is in good hands.
@@BTC-MT Topuria seems to have the most potential among all of them and he has a personality as well. UFC would love to have champion like him. His next fight against Emmett will answer a lot of questions about him because Emmett is not only a very heavy handed striker, he is a very good wrestler as well.
Allen if takes this loss in a positive way can learn a lot and probably defeat Max in a rematch.

Max looked great. And Arnold did too. Two great fighters, competitors, and good guys.
Loved that he went back to his 2014-16 style where he focused on footwork, stance switching, and being a little elusive

Max is in a similar situation as Whittaker. Both just gotta wait and see if someone else becomes the champ. Anyway, if Max had a less aggressive approach against Alex in the trilogy, he would have done better. Didn't understand why he just gave away his height like that and kept cooperating with Alex by following him around and get punched so easily...
No he's not. Max was given the third fight he was entitled to. Rob is still waiting for the third fight he is entitled to.

@@gqwarrior6694 There's an argument for both winning the rematch. Obviously, I meant that they can beat everyone else but don't get a decision over the current champs. Adesanya has been more active than Alex, and Whittaker has been more active than Max, so that's why Whittaker never got a trilogy because nobody actually active in the featherweight division, so Max got a trilogy much earlier.

Whittaker keeps dominating, Holloway didn't dominate Yair, he barely got a decision that could've very well gone to Yair with rounds 1, 2 and 5

That ending was a great summary of the fight. Allen hits Holloway with a bomb but Holloway bounces back harder than ever with multiple shots of his to display dominance and the will of the Tiger

He looked WAY sharper here than in Volk #3. You gotta think, maybe his head wasn’t all in it in that last one. All credit to Volk, dude is a monster, I’m just saying he didnt remotely look himself last time they were in there. Either way, excited for the division moving forward.

Max is a savage, had Allen rocked bad at the end of the fight. If max had ko power he’d probably still be champ, but the amount of experience max has from all these 5 round fights is insane.
