    Great intro. Definitely going for 3mm on FOW bases and corresponding terrain.
    Looking forward to the pre-orders opening up.

    I'm looking forward to O Group and looking forward to the next installment. I also love the 1970's TV Weekend Magazine type intro/outro.

    Great video, what are the prospects of playing it solo?

      Solo-play is possible, but like all solo games, you'll need to get into the mind-set of both sides and play appropriately, even if you do have full knowledge of your "opponents" plans!

    I have my 3mm miniatures based in platoons, 3 x 2.5 cm . Will I be able to use them for O Group?

    Those miniatures look like Flames of War. I'm assuming O'Group is based by the section/squad. Are there restrictions as to base size or number of minis on the base?

    I'll be hitting Refresh on the TFL shop page, just like Sheldon trying to book for Comicon.

    I'm probably missing something here, but is there a reason each German platoon for this 1941 Eastern Front game has what looks like 3 sections instead of 4? Is it a game mechanic issue? i.e. all platoons have 3 sections in the game, regardless? Really like the C&C focus of the game - quite relentless! :)

    • @toofatlardies
      @toofatlardies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, four squads is very much an option. Here we have simply taken a reduced formation. The honest truth is that when doing a video demonstration we try to keep things as vanilla as possible so we can focus on showing specific rules details.

      @snowcat9 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@toofatlardies Thanks Rich. I'd started to think it was a mechanic or 'abstraction', which would have been perfectly fine too. So 1941 Bad Guys can have 4 sections per platoon as per history - excellent! :)

    The hook is in deep....thrashing on the line. Query for the audio tech, oy! Is the theme music Emerson from ELP or Wakeman or some other? Bonus points either way-and gilding the lily somewhat on the sales pitch.

    • @toofatlardies
      @toofatlardies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not sure. It was a 1970s TV theme for an investigative journalism programme. As for the sales pitch, we are trying to show as much as possible so people have an idea if it would be something they’d like. Without wargames shows the opportunity to try before you buy has disappeared.

      @@toofatlardies And well done that: I endorse it heartily. Stateside we never really had the pleasure of actual wargames shows of the sort that used to show in the UK w/ Peter Gilder (Battleground?).

      I don't know the name of the music but it was used as the theme for a UK current affairs programme in the 1960s or 70s. Something like This Week or World in Action.

    • @ruckandmaul5018
      @ruckandmaul5018 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rangerminiaturesandgaming3647 Its 3 bases to a platoon, you can have as many figures on the base as you wish. 3 platoons make up a Company under the control of a company commander, so thats 10 bases for a company. If its a standard 3 company battalion, then its 30 bases to a battalion.

    • @toofatlardies
      @toofatlardies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rangerminiaturesandgaming3647 No. It's a different scale. One base represents a squad or section. Typically, three bases is a platoon. You can put any number of figures on the base. It really depends, what you like the look of and what scale of figures you are using.
