I never realised that it was actually Dom's band. He was the one who got Matt in and then he was the one who got Chris to learn to play the bass. I've always thought that Matt was the leader in every sense, but now it seems like Matt is the artistic leader - the crazy genius who brings in most of the songs and ideas while Dom is the more down-to-earth, backstage leader who keeps them all together.

I'm glad they split earning equally. This is a basic formula for most long term bands.
For recording and performing yeah. But the person who writes the songs definitely deserves the lion's share.
There's literally millions of people who can play the piano/guitar/bass/drums... But people who can write amazing songs are one in a million.

I’ve watched and listened to a tonne of Muse interviews over the years but I can honestly say this interview was the most interesting.
Most of the interviews they get they just get asked the same questions.

Upper Class guys, lots of choices, no financial worries growing up, £20 million in the bank as adults. I'd assume that helps.
@@bennyhill3505 it can help but obviously it can do the complete opposite because allot tend to go down the root of drugs and alcohol. But yeah they’re far from working class.
Their life are quite healthy when comparing with other rock band so…it’s not surprising that they look better. At least they don’t have drug or alcohol abuse….and got involved in tons of weird behaviour

They went to the same comprehensive school as me.
Matt is on record as saying his mother had very little money following her divorce from Matt’s dad.
These lads have worked hard with their creative talents, not taking the druggy route that some rock bands do, and deserve all the success they’ve earned.

These guys are simply cool and were destined before time to be together as a successful band!!!! Saw MUSE once and they were one of the few top bands I ever heard live!

About 6-months late but just found this and OK, there might be a fuller version out there but this is great. Loved MUSE & MB since the beginning, been a long time I was in Devon back then, so it was fab the Teignmouth kids made good. And it was lovely to hear Matt talk about his Dad, as Knights really is so evocative of an era most MUSE fans wouldn't have a clue about. I miss Chris Moyles, I know he could be difficult, but that was then & Radio1 probably wasn't the easiest place to be, so glad he's back doing what he loves & he seems more humble... This was a good interview, he genuinely was listening and I think Matt and Dom enjoyed it too and I learnt a lot. Maybe next time Chris W will be there, too. Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed it (I'm so far away now I doubt I'll ever see them play live again 😢) so this was a special treat for me. Cheers 👍😊

i appreciate not only that youtube's auto-generated closed captions try to censor abrasive language and that toward the end dom's mic was panned to the left and matt's to the right
Almost every time the camera cuts to that black and white angle with the "camera recording filter" the time code resets. Think that'd be easily noticeable in the editing room.

I like some of these interviews but does the editor not check the sound levels before uploading? The mic levels are all over the place, when someone raises their voice you get distortion. Not very professional.

He kinda doesn't like big interviews and avoids publicity as much as possible 🤷♀️ plus he has 8 kids now 😆 (but half of them are old enough now)
I do not know Radio X or its mood for thing like this, but i thought Mr. Moyles was very disrespectful at the begininng with Dom.
It's banter, common in the UK, Australia, South Africa etc. It may look like an insult on the surface but it's nothing malicious and the other party knows it. Don't worry.
