keep in mind that dog and cat dry food does oxide and gets stale increasing the chances that your pet will reject it eventually and you'll have to throw away more than if you kept it in a sealed dark container, also large quantities stored like that will more than likely attract vermin of all sorts. Also be careful with wood finishes that might poison your pet, especially in warmer cities.

I think he measured the width of each cut and added all of it up. Or maybe like me just eyeballing it
The curvature is only relative. He did not do any crazy math or anything here. The wood does not touch between the dados nor does it need to as he used a sanitary liner along with the base and top to add strength. If you want to do this to any curve that will later be reinforced simply use a flexible tape measure and measure the length of the curve (from flat to flat) and evenly space your dados inside that space. The dados and spacing can be any length that will lay almost flat on you curve. In this case he happened to use a 1/4" dado every 1/4", but he could have just as well done 3/16" every 3/16", or 1/8" every 1/8" etc.

Great design, I would've liked to see the pegs be a bit longer so that the feeding height is better for the dog but that's an easy fix for anyone trying to build this
It's not an original idea, but a cool one though. You should maybe install a lock so your dog can't use it for itself.

I mean, I just use one of those Tupperware cereal dispensers and it's just as easy. Though, it's not a pretty storage box like my grandpa would have made in his garage 30 years ago.
I mean most dog food isn't going to go stale In the week it takes them to go through the bag. Dude put in a 10lb bag that dog is probably between 55-60lbs meaning he probably gets 8oz 3x a day (1.5lb a day) the bag will not last long enough to go stale
