    I underestimated how many folks would wave to or acknowledge the car without realizing there was nobody behind the wheel!

    Fantastic demo of ASS in action 😂 We just joined the Tesla family a week ago (Model Y) and absolutely love it. Having three paid off gas cars, and with the current incentives, we thought it was time to see what EV vehicles are all about.
    We experienced the FSD on the toll road the other day, and I genuinely flipped out when the Tesla signaled and changed lanes to get pass a slower driver - mind blowing!
    Just updated the car last night, and look forward to trying out the summon feature, definitely going to be fun. Technology is crazy, and so awesome 😃 Thanks for sharing this, you’ve earned a subscriber!

    The main thing this shows is how people just wander wherever they feel like in car parks.

    Why have the screen went blank on 2:12 ?

      I saw that too. Must have been a small software glitch of some sort.

    "It’s fake" was my favorite reaction.

      Yeah! The lady who said that eventually figured out that it was me controlling the car, but until then she was a little flipped out :)

    Have you considered NOT parking in that one parking spot? haha

      Fair enough :) When I was editing this together, it did occur to me that I only used a couple different spots to start each summon. Next time I’ll try to mix it up a little :)

      @ThisIsTeslaTrippin -- No, i'm just being facetious! I just took delivery of my 1st Tesla, Model Y this week. I'm actually a little apprehensive about trying ASS mode, but you gave me a little boost of confidence!

    It is quite impressive however can you show how it works a rainy day and when the camera's are dirty? I live in Alaska and would like to see if this works in during our winter conditions.

    • @ThisIsTeslaTrippin
      @ThisIsTeslaTrippin  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      As long as the cameras can see, rainy conditions don’t really affect Autopilot/FSD very much. Surprisingly, the first camera to give out in rainy conditions is usually the rear camera; while driving in rain or snow, the vacuum effect behind the car pulls in the water spray/salt/dirt and can make the rear camera useless in high speed driving. EV drivers commonly give the rear lens a quick wipe with their thumb :) Some EVs now come with little washer fluid sprayers to clean off the cameras. I’m sure something like that will have to be almost standard equipment to keep cameras clean.

      This is cool but I do want to ask outside of what I’d use it for which would be for the rare occasions I’d get a large item from the store or not have an umbrella on a rainy day, what would be the use of this feature?

    • @ThisIsTeslaTrippin
      @ThisIsTeslaTrippin  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You definitely named 2 good use cases. Others might be… what if I were in a wheelchair, or on crutches? I could bring the car to me without having to go after it. Or maybe I just left a busy concert and called the car to come and pick me up instead of using a valet? Lots of ways this will be useful, especially when it’s basically a standard feature of most cars. Thanks for watching!

    It would be interesting to put a camera on the roof of the car to capture the surprised expressions of passers-by.😊

    Will there be a day when the car drops you off and finds a parking spot ?

    • @ThisIsTeslaTrippin
      @ThisIsTeslaTrippin  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely!! And Tesla already has a name for that feature… “Reverse Summon” 😎 That will be coming in a software update, hopefully soon!

    I’ve not used it yet, still not ok with it driving with no one in it yet. I just imagine myself running across the parking lot as it gets stuck somewhere.

    Isnt the purpose of having a car to get from point a to point b? So whats the point of an EMPTY car driving around??? People who do this just to distract others that are walking or using their car for its intended PURPOSE, should be fined.

    • @ThisIsTeslaTrippin
      @ThisIsTeslaTrippin  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Imagine if it’s raining, and you call your car to pick you up so you don’t have to walk through a rainy parking lot? Or imagine that you have your elderly grandparent with you and want to save them a long walk out to the car? Or you are on crutches or in a wheelchair? These are all great reasons why you might want your car to pick you up at the front of a store/school/work/etc. And in 20 years, this stuff won’t be just a party trick. It will be standard equipment on every car, same as seat belts and air conditioning.
