dude loved the clarity and push you have in your playing. I will be using this video as a reference as i attempt to learn this work. Thank you for sharing your gift. Very awesome phrasing.
Very surprised at the wonderful phrasing. Many turn the Prelude into a mad jumble of notes without order or context. Again great phrasing and beautiful, clear playing
Just spent the evening looking for a decent rendering of the "Dorian Toccata" ... I found it after 3 hours played by a young man in Norway. Then chanced on this cameo... brilliant performance. Time for all those ageing power virtuoso organists and their walls of sound to call it a day ...It's Bach I want to hear and you can hear him here. Thanks QETOL :D).
John Foss indeed musical, at about 1:20 you can hear his sense of dynamics and sustain refer to the more muted harpsichord or pianoforte sound that the piece was probably originally written with, such great sense of touch with this guy.
I heard this live in a Stephen Bishop recital when I was a child and was spellbound by the momentum. I enjoyed this just as much. SB petered away to pp at the end though, which I prefer to a noisy ending.
sehr lebendige Bach Interpretation! Hervorragendes Tempo und einwandfreie Artikulation. vielleicht non ein wenig mehr piano forte Abstufungen, ansonsten: Daumen hoch*****
It depends on how much you practice, lets say 1 hour a day about 2, 3, 4 months depending how good you are but memorizing the song will be a little harder since its around 12 pages I believe
If u can't play the inventions for instance, Ur have no chance playing this......if Ur extremely good, like pro level, u could learn this in probably a few weeks......if Ur average like me, this will take me a year at least and it won't be perfect......so don't best urself up, this piece is a life long study
What a wonderful rendition. Fast enough that the music flows, but moderate enough that the impeccable phrasing stands out. BRAVO!
His tempo is perfect!
Great stuff! Thanks.
Just great! Thank you for this wonderful performance. The structure of the piece is so beautifully shown.
Wundervoll! Höre ich mir seit Jahren immer mal wieder an! Danke!
Bravo pour cette élégante interprétation ❤👏👍💐
la magie et la beauté de la musique de Bach à travers un simple prélude. bravo !

It certainly is. And this fellow is great! Harvey G.
Tempi and clarity is fine, but why not playing with the dynamics? It's quite boring this way.
Y, además, es un guspo chico.
awesome Glen Gould reincarnation. 10/10
