Location: Raja Rani Temple in Bhubaneswar
The concept - a statue in the temple comes alive and performs the dance.
NOTES by dancer Mio Ikeda on this dance: Palllavi. Raga Arabhi Tala Ek Tali. Pallavi is a pure dance item in Odissi repertoire. The dance begins with slow rhythmic movements and increases in its pace and reaches a climax towards the end. This Pallavi is set to Ragini Arabhi and describes her attributes as the one endowed with the hue of molten gold, her forehead decorated with Kumkuma, eyes as beautiful as the blue lotus and she is as brave as a rock. She is invigorated with life when amidst a group of musicians. Such is the beauty of Ragini Arabhi.
