Good advice thanks, I recently decided not to take a leadership position as it was too hands off for my liking. What I enjoy is building things, not handing over solutions for others to build. But a lot of what you said here makes sense to me if in the future if I were to go for a team lead.
You mentioning you're an extrovert probably explains why I didn't want team lead, I'm very introverted so would rather not have to speak at all most days, so that just doesn't really fit.

Knowing what you want is indeed super fundamental, well done for that.
A lot of people will typically take on these positions mostly for the pay raise, or simply to feel some career growth. Sadly, as you more or less described, by doing so, not realizing what the role actually is, and for sure, it takes a lot of coding away, and adds a lot more meetings, and enabling others to do the work you would typically do.
Thanks for commenting Bert, appreciate it :0).
