You probably didnt lock the target after you point on it on the radar. (check in controls your bind - Lock Radar/IRST on target). Also best for those kills is TWS(track while search) radar. If you still have problems to find out, tell me and ill make short for you where i explain exactly how to do it.

If you play Mig 29, there you have TWS and TWS HDN too, it depends if target is comming to you, in that case you use HDN(head on) otherwise use normal mode, but i use most of the time just TWS without HDN and its working just fine. So find enemy on the radar, lock it and fire. If he doesnt notch your lock or fire first, you should be fine, because no other missle is 5,8M. Just practice and youll get to it.
