Yess. Pop culture is cool and everything but folk culture is unparalleled. It is so important to keep certain traditions and tap into your unique culture or any practices of significance as often as possible.
I went to my Gma's house to put something together and she made oxtail + rice and peas and made sure my brother and I ate before getting back on the road. You can't get that from just anyone or anywhere.
