Material help is a great thing. However, helping people realize their spiritual potential, helping them realize that they are in fact an indestructible space that is neither born nor dies, is equally important in my opinion. Volunteers, psychiatrists, or Lamas. Everyone does their job. But if one looks only from a materialistic point of view, one will only see a lazy person sitting on a cushion. Which is really sad actually.
There is a difference between Eastern and western thought of school, most of people thinks that material help is one and only way but how many of billionaire and millionaires who can afford to bye expensive flat in a tall skyscrapers search for a window to jump? Does really wealth can buy a real containment and fulfillment? Answer is always no. Yogi's are trying to search for the permanent solution for this problem and be able to help others to come out of it as well.

Most people in Europe where I live are not millionaires or billionaires. I've known many millionaires, though. None is them was unhappy. Most unhappy people I've known are poor and not because they are lazy or have bad education but mostly because of something that is out of their reach, like the market interest in their skills. WIll yoga help with this? Doesnt likke like this. Wealth and financial stability indeed do buy fulfillment here in the Western world. 95% of people who have stable financial life are content, happy.
